close trans friend i came out to a few months ago still refers to me as deadname in private conversation. we had a long conversation and everything. im ~fully boymode, though will be much more out soon, and it kind of hurts..
>>
Why should people refer to you with a female name while you're still presenting male?
>>
>>42068348
>why be kind and supportive to your friends
gee i dunno
>>
>>42068371
I found it embarrassing when people used she/her for me while I was still boymoding. The point was to pretend nothing was changing for as long as possible.
>>
>>42068348
oh i dont care about that i just would like them to not do a thing which they know is actively painful to me when there is literally no need
>>
>>42068337
tell her it bothers you
>>
>>42068381
yeah, i mostly do too, though online is.. fine. tbc this is taking place on the internet, though i know them in person
>>
So you have to contact your friend at some point and just be like
>hey I needed to talk about something
>the other day when you called me deadname it kind of hurt my feelings and I'd like if you used othername instead
Then your friend if they're a normal person without an empathy deficit will be all
>oh no I'm sorry
>*gives some explanation of what was going through their head*
>I won't call you deadname anymore
>>
>>42068435
"no, I have to passively post about it on 4chan and cry about it for years before I speak my mind because I'm a coward who thinks problems go away without taking any action on my own part. we had one conversation about it, that should've been enough to make everything perfect and because we had that one conversation there's no point in having another"
- op, probably
>>
There's people who have kept calling me deadname and male for the entire 7 years I've been transitioned. Im at the point where if someone does that shit I just leave without saying anything.
