this thread is falling apart but same :( i was talking to a ftm tripfriend about this years ago and we couldn't come to a decisive conclusion. it's weird. no matter how much they pass, as soon as i learn they are trans my brain autonatically starts assigning them feminine pronouns and it makes me feel so awful. espcially as a trans person myself.
i see trans women as women, men, or a secret third thing depending on their presentation/passability but i never have difficulty using feminine pronouns for them, even in the most masculine of cases. i don't know why this happens :(
