You don't *need* to have a blood test at all for hormones to work. The purpose of a blood test is to compare your hormone levels before and after starting hrt to adjust your dosage respectively and reach healthy, consistent levels. If you truly can't access a blood test you can just approximate what your levels should be with the injectable estradiol simulator website. You should probably at least try to get a blood test though, all you need is a requisition with estrogen and testosterone on it.

ive never taken a blood test before. is telling you your hormones a standard thing or do i have to specifically ask for them.

You generally have to specifically ask, but that isn't something you do at the actual blood lab. The way it generally works is that you ask a doctor for blood testing of whatever you want to test (in your case hormones), then you go to a clinic, give them a printed copy of that requisition, and take your blood, then they send the results to your doctor's office and your doctor sends them to you. If you're American (and probably in other countries too I just don't know which ones) there is a way to do direct to consumer blood testing. Just look it up and it shouldn't be too difficult from there. Cuts out the whole talking to your doctor thing.

they told me not to worry about it unless you suspect you have some kind of condition, and especially not if it would delay starting or be a financial burden
