I had a penis for a long time and I was fine with it. Now I have a vagina and I'm fine with it too.Other trannies yelled at me that I must have had "dysphoria" originally, or that I'll develop "reverse dysphoria" at some point now that I'm post-op. Well, it's been over ten years, and still no "reverse dysphoria." I just have sex differently now, to the delight of my partner. She's the reason I got it done, not "dysphoria."I'm beginning to think the Blanchardians are correct, and "dysphoria" is just autosexual frustration. The idea of "reverse dysphoria" evidently doesn't hold up. Some "dysphorics" accuse me of lying, which is interesting because they excoriate Blanchard for accusing some of his research subjects of lying.
>>42113695very interesting observationbut N=1 isn't too convincing
>>42113695It's not correct to assume dysphoria is a universal phenomenon, even though it is rhetorically convenient as a narrative for hanging arguments upon. Some trans people clearly experience dysphoria. That much we know as a fact. Some proportion of cis people also experience things like "dysphoria", or at least body dysmorphia, if their bodies are incongruent with their vision of themselves. But let me put forward two possible scenarios, with the same "observed" outcome:>100% of people are capable of experiencing gender dysphoria, and 1% of people have an incongruence between their birth sex and goals for gender.>2% of people are capable of experiencing gender dysphoria, and 50% of people have an incongruence between their birth sex and their goals for gender, but the vast majority of them are not capable of "feeling" distress over itBoth are extreme examples, but it underscores that we have very scant evidence of the mechanisms for gender dysphoria. Because, fundamentally, it's unethical to attempt to induce potentially permanent trauma on cis-people for the sake of experimentation. But, if you are curious about at least one study that manages to probe this question (admittedly with a VERY SMALL, and VERY SPECIFIC sample group that can't be representative of the entire population), then check this out:https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMoa022236
>>42113695I just want srs cause i hate getting boners and looking at it it’s so ugly
>>42113695you don’t have genital dysphoria. it’s really that simple
>>42113695So having a penis didn't bother you at all, you would have been fine with it for the rest of your life, and still you spent tens of thousands of dollars and went through with the whole surgery with the months and years of post care and double digit chances of a total botch? That seems a little unbelievable ngl
>>42114000>months and years of post care>double digit chances of a total botchgo to a good surgeon and that won't happen
>>42113695i got srs because i didn't like having a pp
>>42114093even so, if you're really that ambivalent about it getting srs is just dumb and unnecessary riskand im saying this as someone who really wants it
