It's not hard to imagine a TA who has previously let essays of poor quality skirt by with better grades, and that the only reason she graded this one honestly on its merits was because she was offended by the position argued. Their interests are usually more based in their material economic conditions, like most people really. Working people like the rest of us, trying to get by, who have been exposed to too much divisive propaganda of a particular flavor.
