The amount of meds and surgical requirements, along with blood testing and non-deployablity due to this is simply to much for the military to bare. It's similar to a ban on type 1 diabetes or autism. We spent 56 million gender affirming care in the USDoD from 2015-2024. That's alot over such a short period and only growing. Trump put a shot to trans people joining and simply getting free surgeries for being trans. Trump simply said "pay for your surgeries on your own dime."
