eunuchtranny is just the modern word for eunuch. for thousands of years we were called eunuchs. and eunuchs were hated just as much as trannies are today. St Augustine of Hippo called eunuchs sexual perverts who rejected manhood. Philo of Alexandria charged us sodomites and having the behavior of women. only in modernity has this language transition occurred. this replacement of the word eunuch has indeed been so powerful even theologians of the ancient Christian churches suffer amnesia when confronted with the new language of "trans". most critically however is the separation you as a trans person are from the history of eunuchs and their struggles into the most remote past of human civilization. "trans" then is a false term that bedazzles and confuses both those who identify as trans and the broader population of people. we need to have serious discussion about what eunuch means in the modern world and if the language of trans truly represents us.
>>42135757the word "eunuch" is just a material claimthe eunuch priestesses and oracles that predated christianity were socially recognized as women
>>42135832yes and much of the hatred of eunuchs in the ancient world was because of their acceptance as women and their refusal to be "men".
>>42135757can you repost this in a week then I'll have the conversation im too tired rn
I agree. Get an orchi and take the eunuch pill sisters.
>>42135757Eunuchs? I thought trannies were closer to like, two-spirit people of varying gender identity in native cultures. Or just people with mixed gendered social roles? Weren't eunuchs a more specific thing?
>>42137333No. The word Eunuch in the Bible is a recent translation from the Hebrew word Saris, which is an umbrella term for either an eunuch, male who developed female naturally (aka intersex), or male who developed female by mankind's hand (trans mtf). The Matthew 19 one in OPs pic is huge because it was said by Jesus as an explanation to reasons why a person may or may not divorce their wife, with it being implied as an exception to comitting sin by divorce. The other big quote is in the Old Testament Isaiah 56 which says Sarises that keep God's law (aka through love if you accept Jesus, Old Testament law if you don't) are given an everlasting name that is not cut off. And I mean, there is also a quote that says there is no male or female if you know Christ.
