Anybody else like for real for real retarded asf?
I have to stare people in the face and cup my ears to understand what theyre saying pretty often, otherwise I'm literally just incapable of processing their speech.
When I'm outside I hear voices and I cant tell when theyre real or fake so I just ignore all of them. Its really annoying because I think theyre talking about me sometimes or it feels like it on the back of my neck but I don't understand their words.
Sometimes I just end up like staring at the wall for many minutes because I forget what I'm doing and keep turning around and walking to the other wall cause I forgot what I was looking that way for
It's really freaking annoying to be like profoundly mentally ill because theres so much stigma around mental illness and trans people so I try to just hide being trans and my dumb brain in general irl.
Its really really annoying. I want to be pretty but the paranoia hearing people makes me dress sorta plain and maybe a little old for my age. Does anybody have advice for coping.

couldn't that just be an issue with the ears?

I guess it might be. I just figured since my inability to hear depends more on eye contact and not really by volume it wasn't like hearing loss but dno

>Nigga you probably lip read

I had a check up a few years ago and I dont remember what they said but I had the beeper button thingy and I didn't get told to do anything else.

I really like deaf people. I wrote a fantasy story where the magic language is sign language and all the wizards do sign language to cast spells and stuff it is sort of awesome. My girlfriend is deaf but only in one ear so I stand on her left hand side and we talk that way.
Is seeing an audiologist something you can do without getting a referral first? I dont have a primary care doctor. I can hear high pitched noises like dog whistles which is sorta cool I think.

go see a gp (just any gp) and then go see an audiologist. idk if u can see an audiologist without a referral in your region
also when u see the audiologist make sure u ask about audio processing disorders and not just hearing loss
u should see a gp first cus they could tell you and also cus they could tell you if you have an ear infection, or some other obvious or immediate problem

anyway yeah deaf people are cool. i have two friends with varying degrees of deafness, both of whom got it from something that happened to them (one from an ear infection and one from an industrial accident). i’m happy to tell you that you are already definitionally deaf (or i guess hearing impaired if we’re being nitpicky) because you struggle with hearing things

Okay, I will meet a doctor and see whats up. Thank you for the helpful advice.
