To correct for issues in the methodology you apply demographic weighting to match the responses to the known demographics of the overall population. That guy didn't do this step. If you apply demographic weighting to his sample you actually find that the rate increased.Another flaws of the study is that it ignores the reality that many trans people don't identify as transgender and just identify as their transitioned to gender, which is another form of voluntary response bias. Surveys just aren't a good way to count trans people because they rely on self identification.
