mtfs with passing voices, what resources did you use to voice train?
>>42179105I was just a gigayoungshit blessed with fagcent
>>42179124thanks for the help
>>42179105Bump
>>42179105Slow acclimation and just use of voice over time. Living with afabs has done me wonders. I still have a deeper voice but people don't question it because everything else is on point. I don't care how autistic you are, mannerisms and speech patterns matter a lot. Also don't overcompensate and do that nasly ass ugly fuck ah tranny voice that some people do. That's just asking to be clocked even by normies, and it fucking hurts my ears to listen to. Ive heard this same shit from the cis besties in regards to tranny voice so I ain't just being mean to be mean.
I started with something like this: https://www.reddit.com/r/transvoice/comments/d3clhe/ls_voice_training_guide_level_1_for_mtf/Once I got an idea about the basics, I attempted to sing, to get the chords accustomed to the new stretching. Of course it sounded horrible, but the point wasn't to be a soprano, but to get into the headspace of using that kind of voice. Then I took some canto lessons from an older teacher who trains both boys and girls. He didn't give af that I wanted the voice to pass. He took the money and taught me how to model my voice. Then more training at home.Apparently I am one of the worse examples. It took me almost two years to pass IRL and even more to pass over the phone. Most mtfs seem to be doing it faster. They're either quicker studies than I am (likely) or they're not counting some exercises as voice training (also likely). Or maybe puberty hasn't affected their chords as much. Now I'm working to get a passing voice in English too. Turns out that's even harder :sob:
>>42179105Just 1 video from Zoe, more resources won't help, only practice will.Only other tip I can give is focus on sounding soothing and soft rather than high pitched, that worked for me.
>>42179305>I don't care how autistic you are, mannerisms and speech patterns matter a lotYES! YES! YES!It's amazing how many trannies overlook or don't treat this part seriously.Walking patterns, small mannerisms and voice are 80% of passing, imo.Cute face and youngshit build and appropriate height amount to almost nothing if you sound and move like a football hooligan.
>>42179305nona can i post a recording for opinions re: mannerisms? i have heard people say this often but i am a total social brainlet and do not really understand what that means. i am told both that i sound completely female and that i sound androgynous but i don't understand what it is that makes people have such different opinions and i wonder if maybe it is a mannerism thing since that might be interpreted differently than sound itself
>>42179379>i wonder if maybe it is a mannerism thing since that might be interpreted differently than sound itselfCould be. Not the nona you're replying to. I'm >>42179340Do keep in mind that recordings distort. What >>42179318 is absolutely real. You can pass over the phone and not pass IRL. Or vice versa.IRL mannerisms matter the most. Over the phone (or vocaroo recordings) the inflections matter the most. The more qualitative the recording, the more clockable if you're not legit relaxed.
>>42179379Go for it! I won't be mean I promise and I'll do my best to give you good advice. I'm also pretty tistic tho so def take some of it with a grain of salt. And yeahhh autism may get you clocked sometimes. Alot of masking goes into trying to stealth pass and it sucksss. Hell I even know cis girls that get accused of being trans just because of their autism, and to my tttt using ass they don't even look like "clocky".
>>42179105>>42179124"passing" in voice with a fagcent doesn't mean much normies ca 't voice clock for shit. If you want an actually nice sounding woman voice you should do professional coaching. The training methods are pretty simple in themselves but having someone to hold you accountable helps.
>>42179340Hell confidence is apart of it too. Because I act like I belong people don't question it unless they're like, in the know. If we're classmates or acquaintances and I'm not bothering to mask that hard, they just assume I'm really autistic.
>>42179340It's so hard to resist not taking stairs 2 at a time and jumping around though lol
>>42179414well i pass over the phone and stealth (or else am the victim of the most elaborately coordinated hugboxing scheme ever contrived idk) in real, but i've never had somebody tell me in real life that my voice sounds androgynous (which makes sense bc why would they)are inflections not what we are talking about when people say "mannerisms"?if recordings are unreliable for this sort of thing i guess i kind of have no idea what the point of my posting something would be, anyhow. i just wish it were easier to know how my voice reads in terms of, like, vocal socialization or however you would call it. i'm trying to come across as fully androgynous to everyone and idk what i should do or not do to accomplish that>>42179486thank you thank you :)https://voca.ro/14kQmjyh69lAhere. you can skip like forty seconds if you don't want to hear me ramble about basically nothing (but if you do skip it know that i am sick and i can post a different recording if that would be better)
>>42179652>i pass over the phoneHaving listened to the recording, I believe you.>are inflections not what we are talking about when people say "mannerisms"?Yes, but not just that.Mannerisms are the totality of habitual gestures, behaviors and manner of speech. It's how you move, how you sit, the type of vocabulary you choose (which matters more if you're more educated, and you seem more educated as randos don't pick up Dostoievski) and, yes, inflections.>I'm trying to come across as fully androgynous to everyoneBut why?You sound quite fem. And relaxed too, which is great.t. >>42179414
>>42179849>Mannerisms are the totality of habitual gestures, behaviors and manner of speech.well now i seem silly lol i thought we were talking solely about speech. this much i knew. though i wouldn't have considered vocabulary an aspect of vocal mannerism and i guess that's got to be a pretty big one. i like my ten-cent words but i'm not generally one to pull them out in conversation unless they are particularly apt.>But why?i am enby, or at least that's how me, myself, and i feel, lol. i'm not really passing to anyone as enby. i don't mind being a woman but i think having a more androgynous voice would be nice, since it is a defining feature of my person and then if i wanted to i could present however i liked. i also just think it's cool>And relaxed too, which is great.yea i got pretty lucky, i think, in the vocal department, as this is just my resting voice. i used to speak higher but obviously that's not as conducive to androgyny lol
>>42179105I grew up doing a lot of different voices and impressions so I just started to use a higher register consistently and eventually I started doing it without thinking about it and it just became my natural speaking voice.
>>42180121>I started doing it without thinking about it and it just became my natural speaking voice.Lol, that's me in the last three months >>42177488
>>42180202Oh heck yeah. High five!
>>42180285High five, I guess. But now I suddenly have to fast forward learn fashion sense (I was convinced I still have at least a year for that).I also have to read procedure on ID change (I never thought I'd get to that like ever).Admittedly, these are great problems to have, but still.I'll exercise girlmode for the NYE party. AFAIK, only one person might be shocked of the whole (little) crowd.
>>42180429Fashion sense seems like a big hurdle for most trans girls. I'd say try looking at places online that are trying to keep up with the most modern trends. If you mostly stick close to that you'll be alright.
>>42179105A lot of stuff from people like "transvoicelessons", but also lots of understanding of the human voice from things like linguistics and voice acting as I learned other languages and how to voice act. I have a good model built in my head in my head of how to train and move my voice cause of this.
>how to fix fashion sensejust buy the next style overboy jeans -> skinny jeans -> women's jean leggings -> whatever is in style nowadays idk i though flare pants were cute on medon't wear something radically different or something that looks bad on you since the two ideas are kind of hard to distinguish at first
>>42180616I do wanna mention the obvious though cause some don't realize. You could have the perfect way of how to talk female in your head but your vocal cords could be incapable of resonating in that way. It's exercise for vocal muscles and building the mind body connection between them. Do remember that you can over do it and results take time. Also get comfortable with androgynous weird sounding faggot voices cause that mental block will stop you from hours of valuable training that you could otherwise do. Also try to adjust your baseline whenever you're conscious of it.
>>42180595>Fashion sense seems like a big hurdle for most trans girlsI'm not completely illiterate.I have girlmoded occasionally for parties and cosplay. I also have a very patient sister.I also have no intention to keep up with the most modern trends. I like being normal/average.So I'll be a normal/average woman too.I already have a boyfriend so I don't need to be super-duper attractive either. Besides, too niche or too fashionable is in itself clockable.
>>42179105i didn't think to mention but i always recommend singing to anybody trying to voice-train. it will teach you so much as a natural byproduct of doing the activity, even without any guidance or coaching: larynx manipulation, resonance, vocal placement, breath support, fry (especially if you (SAFELY) sing along to screamy stuff)....there's really very little if anything at all that you cannot, or i did not, anyway, learn from just singing my heart out to songs by The Used and Paramore and Fall out Boy et al.very much recommended if you find traditional voice-training tedious or exhausting (or even if you don't bc singing is awesome). nb that you should still be warming up when you sing, though, especially if you're going to try things like screaming.
>>42180802Good. Even if you don't directly copy trends they're worth keeping an eye on imo. If nothing else it will help you to know if you want to do a wardrobe refresh or just get some new outfits you might not have otherwise thought to buy for yourself.
>>42179105Mine doesnt pass perfectly yet but i made a lot of improvement. I found a girls voice i liked then had chatgbt analyze her r1 and r2 registers then i played around with my larynx and pitch while recording myself then had chat gbt tell me what timeframe was closer to the goal and adjusted. Trying to not strain is the hardest part. Im going to go to a voice coach one time before switching to make sure i wont fuck up my vocal cords.
I used the trans voice lessons on YouTube and just practiced daily. I had a long commute and I answer phones for a living so I really got to just practice alot. One big thing that helps was recording my voice, playing it back to myself, and adjusting while still keeping a natural feel. I found I was voice passing when I stopped getting incorrectly gendered over the phone and when southern men started referring to me as honey and sweetheart lol
>>42179105I started hrt at 18 and I spent a lot of time trying to sing up high and did different things to see how I could minimize voice cracks. Then I looked up some YouTube videos on how to place you larynx, where to resonate from, and how to position your mouth and all. Idk what happened for me because I kind of had an easier time of it than it seems like a lot of girls do.
