The reason so many theyfabs and even FTMs look and act like circus freaks is literally just trying to get guys to stop thirsting for them as much. That's it. There's often still some fujoshi self fetishization going on too, but EXTREMELY few FTMs actually have any interest in "being a man". The only thing they seem to put active effort into being 'on par' with cis guys is the rates they sexually assault people, but it's typically just each other so I guess that's up to you to decide if it counts.
