>what is INTERGEN?
INTERGEN is a general for intersex people to talk to each other about their experiences or just to hang out

>what is an intersex person?
Intersex people are those born with any of several sex characteristics, including chromosome patterns, gonads, or genitals that do not fit typical binary notions of male or female bodies

>am I intersex?
We are not doctors, please seek medical advice, but dont be afraid to ask questions here to maybe understand things better

>are trans people intersex?
Trans people are not inherently intersex, however an intersex person can transition if they want, “neurologically intersex” is not real as being intersex pertains to the sex organs or hormonal productions

>how is this /lgbt/?
We share similar experiences of discrimination and social prejudice based on sex and gender norms, even though intersex is a variation of sex characteristics, not a gender identity or sexual orientation itself

>dinosaurs? Dinosaurs! Who’s your favorite dinosaur? Are dinosaurs cute? Would you like them to still be alive?
>>
I love all dinosaurs I think they’re really silly and cute looking but when they became more scientifically accurate they took away some of ththe silliness of them
>>
I think dinosaurs are pretty great. I don't remember having a favorite growing up though--apparently that was more my brother's thing. Instead I hyperfixated on solar system facts.
Now I think it's gotta be the T-rex. Fierce predator but adorable tiny arms.
>>
Still yet to see any documented proof of intersex here
>>

Once again who would post ppi such as medical records on 4chan, begone Indian scammer
>>
>>42264215
Does it bother you that intersex conditions have been leveraged to obfuscate the sexual binary?
>>
>>42265394
Personally it bothers me that both sides want to use us as pawns in their shitty political battles. Liberals think we're for justifying X markers on passports. Conservatives want to force me to live as my definitely totally unambiguous binary sex that's literally opposite my morphotype because science or whatever.
Every last one of you jackoffs can fuck off to hell.
>>
>>42264215
being trans is a form of neurological intersex
>>
>>42266303
OK deal, but only on the condition that you're REQUIRED to get an X marker on all your identity documents. Since you want to be so special and all.
>>
>>42266303
If trannies want to be intersex, then I'll just call you "they" from now on. You will not get a sexed pronoun.
>>
>>42266366
>>42266385
>want
huh?
>>
>>42266387
I mean you're clearly not satisfied with the trans label describing you or you wouldn't be here arguing intersex applies too would you? Especially in a space where you know your claim will be received poorly.
I think you need someone to acknowledge the special nature of your existence. We wish to grant you your wish, specifically by referring to you as a third category of human as you clearly desperately need.
>>
>>42266706
nah
>>
>>42266303
I think you’re a gross and disingenuous person, please shit up other threads :( or at least participate constructively in some manner
>>
>>42267397
but I'm not being disingenuous at all, it just seems like you're projecting a lot of insecurity and pain onto an innocuous and constructive observation that can help us all better understand sexual differentiation and developmental variations
>>
>>42267451
If you were secure in your transsexuality you wouldn't need intersex people to validate your fake intersexuality.
At best we can observe correlations in brain structure measurements and such. We do not at present know how gender identity is encoded in the brain, which means we can't differentiate between trans brain and things that are merely highly correlated with transsexuality. This has already mislead researchers into conflating sexuality with gender identity, and without a true understanding they'll just keep repeating similar mistakes. So even if I don't take you up on debating the definition of intersex itself, your claim sits on barely more than zero evidence.
>>
>>42267451
>innocuous and constructive observation
It’s every thread, I know your gorilla hands mash out the same response regularly, but genuinely is it so hard to accept that you were born a normal male that decided to fix a neurological condition
>>
>>42267646
>secure in your transsexuality
what are you talking about? what is there to be secure or insecure about?
>we can't differentiate between trans brain and things that are merely highly correlated with transsexuality
what is the difference? we observe consistent patterns in the brains of people who report gender dysphoria

>>42267665
>you were born a normal male
clearly not, normal males and females do not have a latent discomfort with their sexually dimorphic physical development and a desire to change those traits to match the opposite sex
>that decided to fix a neurological condition
well wait now you're actually agreeing with me, it's an intersex neurological condition
>>
>>42267719
>latent discomfort with their sexually dimorphic physical development
So it’s not an innate problem this only came later in life? Almost like you weren’t born thinking this hmm
>now you're actually agreeing with me, it's an intersex neurological condition
this is where you’re a disingenuous creep, there’s no neurology in the term intersex and the only way you have people agree with you is to twist their words. I think the idea is sad that you have to state you’re part of a small minority of people to justify your personal ROGD
>>
>>42267778
you're not actually reading what I'm saying, are you...
>ROGD
oh
you're one of those

LOL no wonder you're so mad
>>
>>42267788
Then please explain why you think that being trans should be considered intersex we’ve been doing this thread for a bit now, you’ve not provided anything that would support your claims you’ve just acted like a creepy skinwalker
>>
>>42267818
>please explain why you think that being trans should be considered intersex
oh, I've done that plenty of times - you can probably find it in the archives, but the tl;dr is the best evidence we have suggests that the brains of trans people before HRT (and to a greater extent after starting HRT) diverge in significant ways from those of cisgender people of their physical sex toward more closely aligning with those of the opposite sex (though they are still clearly distinct from cisgender people of the sex corresponding with their gender identity as well, placing them squarely in-between)

>acted like a creepy skinwalker
how? the biggest pushback I've gotten in these threads is a vague insinuation that somehow trans people are taking something away from those with more obviously physically intersexed traits or somehow preventing them from receiving care, for which no evidence is only presented and which directly echoes anti-trans rhetoric attempting to blame trans people for the wrongs committed against anyone who is not closely aligned to a gender or sex binary by cis people
>>
>>42267719
>what is there to be secure or insecure about?
I dunno. Why do you care if we call it "neurologically intersex" or something else so long as we acknowledge that it's some inborn condition? What's the point of demanding we call you intersex?
>what is the difference between correlation and causation
You can't be real right now.
>>
>>42267843
Can you provide cited works
>>
>>42267889
>demanding we call you intersex
nobody is doing that, I'm just repeating my claim that being trans is a form of neurological intersex

>>42267895
sure, like I said you can check the archives and I know I've found more studies on this in the past but here's what I've got off the top of my head and from a quick search for articles and actual studies:
https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/is-there-something-unique-about-the-transgender-brain/
https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8955456/
https://www.nature.com/articles/s41386-018-0140-7
https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1053811920301002
https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC4987404/#Sec28
https://www.hawaii.edu/PCSS/biblio/articles/2005to2009/2006-atypical-gender-development.html
https://gwern.net/doc/genetics/heritable/2018-polderman.pdf

the overwhelming conclusion is that we need more and better studies, and at this point it's still in the same boat as the uncomfortable likelihood that being a homo is also arguably due to intersex brain development, so few if any scientists are outright making the claim I'm repeating here so much as suggesting it is a possibility - but there's a lot out there and it's a fascinating topic that I think can help us understand and provide care for people with any kind of sex/gender incongruence or misalignment with an improperly enforced strict binary (whether traditionally mistreated physically intersex people or just your average tranny)
>>
>>42266303
this is /lgbt/ not an academic journal / forum / conference lmao

Homosexuals are unambiguously phenotypically male with the one arguable exception that they're same-sex attracted. Some of them are even tops!
And you continue to ignore bisexuality. Are bisexuals brain intersex?
The majority of trans people, even back in the 60s when everyone was gatekept to hell and back, were physically unambiguously their birth sex prior to transition. Even and especially by 4chan "but what if we measure <insert bonepill>" standards. Somehow they have a DSD that mysteriously only affects the brain? I'm not gonna say it can't happen but I am gonna say you definitely need more and better studies.
And you continue to ignore non-binary people. Are enbies brain intersex?
What about straight men who act a little gay and like pink? Men with 2D:4D ratios greater than 1? Americans adults who are 5'7"?
Where do you draw the line?

It is a fascinating subject worth studying in its own right. What's equally fascinating is your need to NPC in intergen about it. Going back to school to get my psych PhD just so I can study this phenomenon. Call me Shay Blanchard.

>phenotypically male
Or female. Sorry lesbians--you're still women. Except the he/him lesbians. You all can be men.

you are so disingenuous it's sad

>no intellectual curiosity allowed

>>42269988
Has anyone proposed a plausible mechanism for how this would come to be? DSDs tend to affect the whole body. Do your testes bluescreen and reboot in the second trimester and leave you a tranny or something? Is that what everyone means by blue balls?
