my hair is quite long but its really really flat like 1A and ive had a ''hairstyle'' for years that i really only have to avoid having to go to a hairdresser. its just a side part. i wanna get an actual hairstyle but i dont know what my options are. my face is like pretty long so i cant just do a middle part because i feel like that would just make it look worse.any trannies with 1A hair have some advice for me?ps. im boymoding so i wanna get something more androgynous, not outright feminine.

i understand what it's like to avoid going to the hairdresser out of fear. ive been there. im still there. but these ponytail homecuts mean i dont even have to get over that fear lmao i get so many compliments rocking these its crazyyou can cut a pretty simple "wolf cut" by tying all of your hair (WHEN WET, AND BRUSHED TO BE VERY STRAIGHT) into a high, TIGHT ponytail (right before it hits the crown of your head, on the back side of your head not the top side), and snipping off a good chunk of your hair (more than what seems sensible, you won't lose length, this is a layering trick).let your hair dry, and give it a brush. see how you like it! if you think you need more face framing, get your hair wet again, and tie it into a ponytail at the front of your head, on your forehead, like a unicorn horn. then, cut off about half the length you did for the back.if you don't want something "wolf cuttish" though, you can just tie it into a front ponytail and give it a snip, and it'll give you a pretty balanced, but highly layered haircut. if you're just doing this step, again, cut off more than you think. i recommend something more wolf cuttish though, since trannies with our square jaws make this style actually look great. the contrast between square jaw & soft round highly layered hair looks excellent, and those with "round," stereotypically coveted face shapes can't pull it off as well (see the japanese: harder for them to do a wolf cut, but they get to pull off an ultra straight structured hime cut, the fuckers. so there's plusses and minuses to different face shapes.)
(>>42269325 continued:)these ponytail methods are the best for home cuts. they make for extremely integrated, flowing layers, better than you'll do by going in and snipping like you're trimming a hedge. feel free to look up "ponytail cuts," but a lot of them needlessly overcomplicate it and tie like 3 ponytails at the same time. you don't do this. you should *not* do this. this will make for layers that don't flow into each other. and don't cut a *low* ponytail either. this will give you dense, unlayered, blocky hair that looks incredibly ugly on tranny face shapes.hope this helps <3
>>42269339i will def look up how to do this and other home cut methods but like arents wolfcuts only for people whose hair has a lot of volume? ive never seen a wolfcut done with completely straight and flat hair
>>42269284maybe in another thread in a few days if i keep procrastinating. im too insecure rn + my hair is greasy kek
>>42269370i thought my hair was really straight and flat when i had a completely unlayered haircut. but in truth, what defines how much "poof" your hair has is how layered it is. you've never seen a wolf cut done with completely straight hair because wolf cuts make your hair seem less straight.cuts should, imo, be decided primary based on face shape, and secondarily, based on hair type. since we have square tranny jaws, wolf cuts look beautiful on us :Dif you don't like how it looks after, you can always grow the layers out pretty simply, by tying a low ponytail and cutting there. that'll kill all layering, which if you want a "straight look", is how to do it. but you shouldn't do this. it'll look bad.but yeah, a wavy hair type and a straight hair type work equally as well for an unlayered and layered hairstyle. the difference between the two is how squiggly it'll look within the style. in design, we talk about big, medium, small, and hair type affects a hairstyle somewhere in the medium range. it's detail, not broad shape.finally, you can ignore all this and just do the unicorn cut, if you still don't believe me that a wolf cut works independently of hair type. unicorn cut is a much more traditional hairstyle, so it should be "safe" for you even if you believe hair type matters for this. but i recommend trying wolf cut first and then if you decide it doesnt work, just migrating into only doing unicorns after.or just go to a hairdresser lol. but these r your options thumbsup
>>42269123 From a 1A afab Get a layered haircut, consider styling your hair with a curler/straightener, use dry shampoo for more volume, tie your hair up or braid it while it’s drying from a shower to give it some shape. In general, too long of a hair style can also flatten your hair down, it doesn’t have to be super short, but anything too far below the shoulders in length will probably work against you
