How *would* i dress if i was a girl? Can someone help me figure that out? I'm too retarded to dress myself.
>>42288000just wear what feels comfy bro, it's not that deep
>>42288013but what about colour matching and skin tone and fabrics and layering and all that shit?not op but i just wear graphic tees and cargo shorts. i have no idea how to make an outfit. it sounds really complicated.
>>42288052it's like studying, so if you care for it, invest your timeif you don't, don'tnot gonna do anyone's homework itt though
>>42288013I can't just walk around naked anon that's illegal> invest your timeinto what? can you suggest activities which would help me train my ability to dress myself?
>>42288068okay but where can you learn this? like what resources?i feel like cisfoids are taught this from an early age so they understand it instinctively. i don't know how to replace that. it feels like learning how to walk or breathe.
>>42288099I read a bunch of articles and then tried to put together some outfits and everyone told me they looked awful i'm so fucking clueless lmao i wish i at least had the right kind of agp to give me some direction
>>42288000idk i made a lot of mistakes and now pm know how to look hot. you get an eye for it when trying on things and well making mistakes
wish i could tell u anon, i remember being in ur shoesi made a lot of mistakes, had to learn to tell the difference between wanting to look good in something and actually looking good in itwhen ur starting out i recommend only buying stuff on sale or from discount or thrift stores cuz most of it is gonna end up being a misslooking at outfits on pinterest helps u figure out like, how form and silhouettes and layering work but the flip side of it is that seeing what skinny models wear on runways doesn't rly help u come up with practical outfits for ur purposesanother hard lesson i had to learn: im not a model, so don't copy what models doi ended up finding a style that i felt comfy in and even gets me complements from time to time but its not rly what i had envisioned at all as a baby trans, i remember rly wanting to look girly or cute or pretty or elegant but in the end the stuff that worked for me was all kind oversized grungy stoner stuff with a few feminine but understated pieces here and there like soft stretchy turtlenecks, women's cargo pants etceven now i still have times i'm not happy with my fashion but i've gotten a lot better at it by just embracing what is practical and looks good on mebut u might take it in a completely different direction, everyone's style is a personal thing so don't follow this advice too closely unfortunately u just gotta experiment
>>42288165maybe it's just trial and error? i spoke to my friend who knows things about fashion and she said it's kind of a learning process. also she thought my outfit sucked.maybe it's just a magic touch that only rich people from paris and new york have.
>>4228800090% of women I see on a daily basis are just wearing a tank top and jeans
>>42288390it's easier to make an expensive, rly well made/tailored garment that u picked out brand new look good than a cheaper one, a used one, one that isn't designer or tailored to look good on uit's also easier to learn what looks good on u when u can afford to buy whatever u want and experiment and have a huge wardrobe because ur not concerned about practicality as much
>>42288422that's very true. i feel like most fashion nerds have the benefit of being rich and hot and not having to work. same reason hunter schafer is so hot.but you can still try, i think. the girl i know isn't very wealthy but she looks on vinted and charity shops and such like. she's got a great fashion sense. i think she's also autistic and has a special interest in fashion, which might help.
>>42288785yea that totally makes sense i think if ur someone with enough knowledge to recognize what's good especially then those second hand stores and online marketplaces can be a rly good resourcehonestly i highly recommend thrifting for anybody getting into fashion cuz it exposes u to a ton of variety, u can try lots of things and it's cheap so it doesn't hurt as much when u buy something that u never end up wearing
>>42288825is the trick literally just trial and error? is there a guide online i can read or something to get me started?
>>42288839sorry anon, trial and error was rly an essential part of the process for memaybe the closest thing i can think of to a shortcut is to just peoplewatch and see what kinds of things women ur age are wearing, what outfits look cool to ubut that isn't fool proof... personally my style has ended up being a little bit removed from what the typical cis woman wears but that's why i get compliments for it
>>42288874alright that makes sense.but i suck at pattern recognition. i'm hoping i can figure out some kind of basic fashion rules from looking at them.>personally my style has ended up being a little bit removed from what the typical cis woman wears but that's why i get compliments for itsounds like you're just alt tbdesu. i feel like alt communities would probably be more accepting of trannies. maybe i should look in their corner of the world as well.
>>42288000>>42288099>>42288165>>42288839Here’s a take from a repper who is meh at male fashion, but loves helping his wife choose clothes: I think you guys approaching it like men. You’re overthinking it. If your inner self is truly female, you have to learn to listen to her. Trust your intuition. If you’re really a chick on the inside, she/you already knows what to do. P.S. don’t dress like an anime character. It’s weird and gross.
>>42289239not even her?also i don't know what intuition i have. i'm also a repper but i feel like my entire brain is male socialised. if there is a female part it's been starved of femininity for twenty years.
>>42289309>not even herFair enough. Thats one is fine…if you’re on stage with your shoegaze band. You probably won’t see too many women wearing that out to target or starbucks or whatever.>I don’t know what intuition I haveI know, and it’s not something you can learn either, but that doesn’t mean you don’t have it.>i feel like my entire brain is male socialisedIt is. But I bet something still feels off?>if there is a female part it's been starved of femininity for twenty yearsI’m 40. You nailed it. For arguments sake, let’s say you have a female soul. If that’s true, you’ve been keeping her locked in a dungeon, and even worse, you don’t even feed her. Find her and let her out. Just don’t let her run amok (look up anima possession). Figure out how to make peace with who you are inside (her), and let her see the sun with her own eyes. Then you’ll find your (her) voice and intuition. You can do it Anon ;) It won’t fix everything, but it makes the situation easier to cope with.
why are reppers so fucking schizo
>>42289690i mean i don't know if i have agp or dysphoria but regardless. can she really be female if she's indistinguishable from my male brain?>You probably won’t see too many women wearing that out to target or starbucks or whatever.that's because there aren't enough female neets. we must carry this burden.also you should stop repping.
>>42288000just pinterest/tiktokmaxx ngl
>>42288000Trial and error. And tailors. If you're in a big city anywhere in the world, it's impossible not to find a cheaper/affordable tailor. I'm a regular at two of them in my city.I ended up throwing out about half of what I had and modifying further about half of what I kept. It's a lot harder when you're not trans, but I love(d) the experimentation too much.Yeah, sure a few odd looks and a few insults here and there, but so what.>hrtfemboy
>>42289239>>42289690>here's a take from a repper who definitely has a female soul (my wife of 20 years told me so).lmao please shut up.you are exactly the kind of tranny who people use to justify transphobia. talking about your desire to be a woman like it's some fucking demon taking possession of you.please never stop repping. go pop out some more kids instead like a good breeder.
>>42290580>can she really be femaleIs it impossible? Are you a spiritual person? You have to look inward and answer that for yourself.>there aren't enough female neetsThere are more than enough lazy wives that spend they’re days on the couch doomscrolling. They dress like frumps.>also you should stop reppingIf only>>42291325Don’t worry, trannies like you are why I’ll rep forever. You can rest easy, nobody in the real world, not even my wife knows about this part of me. It’s obvious that you don’t even grasp what I have to say. Who’s really justifying transphobia? Me, the repper who said that embracing the spiritual aspect of who I am helps me get on with life? Or you, the tranny screaming that I’m talking about demons and possession? You’re giving off some serious “ITS MAAM!” vibes. Maybe you would have more allies in the real world if you didn’t act so deranged.
>>42288000>>42288099> i feel like cisfoids are taught this from an early age so they understand it instinctivelyCisfoids aren’t taught shit, it’s trial an error but with more time to practice. The main principles are:1) Dress for the occasion. It’s better to be underdress then overdressed. If you go grocery shopping, you don’t have to put your Sunday best on etc2) Skimpy sexy clothes are appropriate as club wear and are not that good some place else3) Most women’s clothing is uncomfortable in one way or another. Find what level of uncomfortableness works for you and what doesn’t. For example, skirts don’t normally have functional pockets, it’s extremely easy to sweat through the skin tight closing etc. Your best bet is practice. Live and learn and so on.
>>42288000follow/look for pictures of fashionable pplgo thrifting to find nice stuff for cheaptry on clothes irl so you can see how they fit your bodytailor or learn to sew to adjust fitwhat styles interest you?
>>42288000just adopt a baggy pants metaif you make up for the hips you dont have yet, you can wear pretty much any shirt and look girlyavoid dresses till you have confidencetry to buy second hand, DO NOT BUY AMAZON
>>42288099It’s called female socialisation get women friends
>>42296045>go thrifting to find nice stuff for cheaphow to do that as a tall twinkhon, I swear any store I go to has 2 pieces max that fit ;__;at least wearing fitting things has been a major confidence boost
>>42293368I'm not really a spiritual person. I don't really know about all that "divine feminine" stuff. I think femininity is only given to people who earn it by being feminine. I'd never know how to do that.Trooning now is better than repping forever. If you don't troon out you'll only regret it later.
>>42295997Alright that makes sense. But I'm more concerned about like, colour matching and silhouettes and layering and what's fashionable and all that. Like, the complicated bits that I can't see. If I pair a certain skirt with a certain top I get told that it's like, the wrong combination and makes my shape look funny or has clashing colours.>>42296201I have women friends but I'm too much of a pussy to ask them. Especially to let them know I'm a tranny. Only you guys (and some random person I got too drunk around) know. There is one girl I ask for fashion advice but I think she's a bit sick of me bugging her about it.
>trial and errorhow the fuck do i know when i've made an error and what it was???
>>42288052>skin tone i noticed asians look really good in white, and people with brown or darker skin look really good in black, if that helps
>>42299789>>42288000pinterest is really good for finding this kind of stuff (picrel is reina tanaka i think)
>>42299789That is helpful. But I keep reading all this stuff about cool tones and warm tones and the shade of your veins or something.
>>42299849Why not just look thru different stuff and see what naturally catches your attention? I suggest going through pinterest and maybe tumblr and seeing if theres anything u like. Its hard to start with the basic algorithm stuff and you'll just get ultra basic stuff so i suggest searching "sakura coquette" and "jirai kei" on pinterest. That's one of the feminine styles (and overall aesthetics, not just for clothing & appearance but other things) that I like. I also like older 2015 era tumblr stuff like picrel and stuff like this blog: tumblr.com/clhoa Good luck
>>42289239terrible advice, fashion is a skill, this kind of vibe-dressing is why we really terrible on average in terms of fashion.>>42288165>>42288390How to learn fashion:1) COLOR SEASON.the number one rule for a good-looking outfit is to learn about color seasons. each person has a season that looks best on them, but you don't have to use your natural season--foundation, hair dyes, and color contacts make it so your base features are customizable.the important thing is for everything that you put into a single outfit is from the same color season. the seasons are cohesive palettes, designed so everything can go together.2) learn the language of women's fashion. if you don't know the difference between a racer-back bralette and a camisole, get studying. pinterest was useful here.3) pelple watch. figure out what women who are the same age as you are wearing in whatever environments you need to be in. copy them.4) learn hair-care and styling5) yes, you need to wear bras, daily
>>42296201facts. cis women are big helpers here.>>42299661take photos, ask for feedback>>42299789couldn't be more wrong, dark skin is usually a spring (works well with bright colors)>>42297862just do it more often. find the biggest thrift store you can. go to every thrift store you can. also, torrid
>>42300144>ask for feedbackwhere?
>>42299927i try that in my local charity shops but my eye for fashion isn't very good. maybe i just need to make collages or moodboards or something.>>42300045where's a good place to start on colour seasons? is it also pinterest?also will what cis women are wearing work for me? i have a pretty broad frame. will i need different clothes to change my silhouette?
Pinterest is useless if you're a gorilla because normal women post thereCis women are useless if you're a gorilla because they're used to dressing normal women and will botch you
