like not disgusted because the person in the mirror is ugly, but disgusted because it is simply a body that is. not. theirs.

is dysphoria comparable to normal types of dysmorphia in any way?

Closest thing I can think of is Depersonalization/Derealization Disorder (DPDR)

I mean I am non binary and the whole reason I am enbie and starting E is dysmorphic feelings, I do have some ultra mild gender dysphoria too but that alone would be entirely manageable but what ultimately does it is the fact I look in the mirror and see a reflection of myself that is frankly disgusting, hairy, and unsightly. My dysphoria is honestly mostly remedied by being super queer and a gay bottom but the feeling of being in a meatcage is what drives me. A lot of enbies (granted mostly theymabs who aren’t trans) that I know irl also cite body issues as an underlying issue moreso than gender identity

agreed, i feel the same way. idk i just dont like the way i look and demasculinising helps. i mostly think i am nothing. having a strong gender identity isnt for me

you just described dysphoria lol. looking in the mirror and seeing a gross hairy man

Yes. Notion of a complete, coherent self is entirely imaginary.

If you look in the mirror and it’s somehow congruent, you’ve either successfully internalised some fiction of yourself that somehow aligns with what you seem to embody, or you’ve reached a point of ego-death where you’ve no concept of “who you are” to align/misalign with physically.

Most people are not in either camp, because 1 is inherently unstable and 2 is an extremely difficult option that most people can’t even conceive of well enough let alone achieve.

Gender dysphoria is just a very specific, reasonably actionable form of the basic existential dread of being a human composed of symbols, narratives, concepts, and fictions.

That's a normal reaction to seeing yourself age out of boyhood

really? I thought that was specifically a transfem thing

not unless they have brain problems
what is pretty standard is identifying with what you see and hating it
>>
>are sane people insane?

Knowing actual cis men makes this statement sound insane. Most cis men love seein a man in the mirror, no matter how hairy
>>
>>42307310
Yes, growing bald is great we all love being ugly
>>
>do [incoherent schizo babble]
yup its tttt alright
>>
>>42307317
Most men don't like going bald, but they'll always take it over taking hrt. Plenty outright refuse to use any fin or dut to treat their hair loss, cause they're scared of having slightly softer skin.
If you equate being a man with being ugly, then you're almost certainly dysphoric yourself
