Bugonia (2025)

Twas a fun movie! I enjoyed it
^_^

It explores the "sone people are aliens pretending to be human" schizo skill tree pretty nicely. Personally i dont have many stat points allocated to that area, im more of a demons and magic kinda schizo but still its enjoyable to watch!!

Nice review OP. I didn't like it that much myself. I think it treats its premise a bit too much like a joke (which it is) when I think it would be stronger if they treated it more seriously to bare the weight of the climate collapse/capitalism analogy. The twist was also so obvious it was a little lackluster, it needed more to keep it exciting than just that.

>My review
The last movie I saw was 2001: A Space Odyssey with a friend. We each took edibles but they didnt hit until like 2/3rds of the way through the movie somehow but it was still really engaging and breathtaking. The cynicism that mankind are nothing but violent apes who only know how to kill each other battling against the desperate hope that we can be something more was really beautiful to me. I only realised when I woke up the next morning that the screwdriver used to kill HAL is analogous to the bone club/nuclear weapons satellite earlier in the film which I think is particularly clever. The 1970s remains the best decade in American cinema.

I really enjoyed Bugonia too. I went in with no expectations and was pleasantly surprised. Jesse Plemons is such a great actor, i love everything he's in. Emma Stone is really good too. Have you seen the show The Curse?

I feel bad for Jesse tbqh because he IS a great actor but iv never not seen him casted as some crazy unsettling wacko. GIVE THE GUY A BREAK

I think i tried the curse show, went in expecting nathan fielder type comedy but it was just ...weird... maybe id enjoy it some other time. Seems like the sorta tging that is fun to watch with a partner

And yea emma stone was great in this movie

I tried the lobster but was kinda bored of it..

The only studio i genuinely dislike is a24.. with maybe making an exception for lighthouse cuz i plan on rewatching that. But to be fair having william defoe is kinda a cheag code.

i love nathan fielder but yeh curse was too hard too watch. i think maybe like a movie length i could watch but not a whole tv show….maybe with a partner.. and a24 is i think overrated probably but has some okay movies idk william defoe can carry though
