Please level with me, the Reddit crowd was super difficult when I asked them about this and I want brutally honest answers.

My boyfriend & I are both in our early 20s and I recently found out that he has been taking estrogen for months. He's been looking different and had low libido, so I figured something was up but he never told me what he was doing, didn't ask me what I thought, etc. I have no idea what he was thinking because it isn't easy to hide the physical effects of estrogen.

What I am wondering:

>How long will it take for his breasts to finish growing? He's got b cups and it's sort of weird seeing boobs there.
>Is there any way to cure AGP?
>Is there a connection between AGP and high functioning "computer nerd" personality types?
>Do small men tend to have more or less change? My boyfriend is 5'6" and skinny (although he seems to be gaining weight).
>He wants fat transfer, is that safe?

I'm not transphobic, just want honest answers. I tried saying that my bf has agp behaviors on Reddit and got massacred for it, even though I live with him and have seen it for years.

>Is there any way to cure AGP?
There's no way to cure AGP. At best you can stop it from progressing, and it's unknown whether you can do that permanently or if it's only temporary.
>Is there a connection between AGP and high functioning "computer nerd" personality types?
Yes. Almost all "computer nerd" trannies are AGP. I don't know whether there's a causative factor. If a "computer nerd" tranny is genuinely hypomasculine then they might be HSTS, but if they're just skinny or skinnyfat then they're AGP.
>Do small men tend to have more or less change? My boyfriend is 5'6" and skinny (although he seems to be gaining weight).
The best predictor of breast growth is female relatives. The traditional rule of thumb is one cup size less than the female relative with the smallest breasts.

>How long will it take for his breasts to finish growing? He's got b cups and it's sort of weird seeing boobs there.
The rule of thumb is most of it is done after 1 year but the full effects of e take 5 years so he can get additional growth past the 1 year mark
>Is there any way to cure AGP?
Eh no humane way being agp isn’t the worst thing according to blanchard agps do develop dysphoria so at this point no real way to detour his desire to transition anymore
>Is there a connection between AGP and high functioning "computer nerd" personality types?
Well mostly yeah
>Do small men tend to have more or less change? My boyfriend is 5'6" and skinny (although he seems to be gaining weight).
Hrt changes are completely genetic lol but since he’s short he has better chances of passing then if he was 6 foot
>He wants fat transfer, is that safe?
Yeah if you go to a good surgeon
>>
>>42333995
Like 5 years tops
Yeah if everyone just treats you really good it actually cures it. That’s why transphobia is actually casing more trannies.
Yeah
She may just make it
No
>>
>>42333995
>How long will it take for his breasts to finish growing
probably a year but who knows, boobs can change size all through life
>Is there any way to cure AGP?
no
>Is there a connection between AGP and high functioning "computer nerd" personality types?
at most there's a higher rate of transitioning of people with autism, otherwise no
>Do small men tend to have more or less change?
it doesn't make a difference
>He wants fat transfer, is that safe?
yeah probably, but it would be good to wait a few years first
>>
>>42333995
>Is there any way to cure AGP?
No. Transition routinely alleviates it quite significantly though. (it did on me, yay!)
>Is there a connection between AGP and high functioning "computer nerd" personality types?
I believe the word you're looking for is correlation.
There is no direct connection, obviously. The overwhelming majority of computer nerds don't have agp.
But yes, there is a light correlation. Trans girls are overrepresented in the filed. Lol, I work in datacenters.
>height
I'm 5'5'' which really helped with passing.
Height doesn't influence changes that much. Genetics in general does.
>fat transfer
Yes, it's safe. As safe as any other cosmetic surgery (I didn't do it though).
>I'm not transphobic
Who cares?
Still, you need to think whether you can be supportive or not. Or if you're even willing to try. There is no wrong answer.
Oftentimes cisfs get weirded out and the relationship collapses. But it can also be the other way around where the cisf partner starts skeptical but then ends up embracing the new identity of her partner.
r/mypartneristrans has stories on both sides and advice on how to navigate (if you want). But yeah, it's better to just lurk. They have a lot of shibboleths and they ban people for innocuous things (like all of plebbit desu).

Why should straight women have to continue dating someone who no longer identifies as a man?
>>
>>42334207
people who call themselves agp are identifying as men

>Is there any way to cure AGP?
No, there isn't a way to cure it and according to Ray Blanchard himself (the man who coined the AGP-HSTS typology), AGP was never intended to be a negative thing.
>>
>>42334274
yeah he says this but it's always been an obvious motte and bailey
it is really funny when he gets in fights with TERFs because they don't (care to) understand his theory

>when I say that trans women are fetishistic male crossdressers whose identities derive from a sexual fetish despite all the contrary modern psychiatric and neuroanatomical research done in the last 40 years, I do so in a value-neutral way, and don't intend anything bad by it!
>it's not my fault that everyone immediately takes this negatively, and both trans and cis people use my ideas for hate - I meant it in a value-neutral way!
>I totally support the right of trans people to transition, even though my clinic turned away most prospective patients
>>
>>42334388
only people who already semi-pass without hrt should be allowed to transition
>>
>>42334207
I didn't say they should.
I merely listed what usually tends to happen and linked to a place specifically dedicated to this issue.
In practice, even though oftentimes the relationships collapse, the former partners do remain relatively close friends.
Transition is not easy. I'm not blaming anyone for deciding that it's too hard to bear it happening in their partner. But I will congratulate those who manage to stick with it. It's a commendable thing to do.

To be honest, before I make a final decision on our relationship, I want to figure out exactly what is going on. From my perspective, it seems very noteworthy that my boyfriend grew up with a severely emotionally abusive mother who failed to empathically mirror when communicating with him and has now heavily "internalized" his sexual desires. It could be interpreted as a slightly autistic man's defense mechanism, worsened by a porn addiction.

>>42334388
There are studies showing trans women's brains range from androgynous (similar to gay men aka "hsts") to just as masculine as cis men.

>Contrary to the primary hypothesis, no sex-atypical features with signs of ‘feminization’ were detected. The present study does not support the dogma that [male-to-female transsexuals] have atypical sex dimorphism in the brain.

The results vary drastically based off whether you are testing "transbians" or gay men who wish to live as women. The latter also show more signs of pre-hrt physical feminization (such as in bone structure).

I live with a biological male who has clear agp tendencies and is significantly less mentally feminine than my gay male coworker (who told me he used to wish he was a woman as a teen, but grew out of it).
>>
>>42334529
Part 2: after reviewing multiple brain scans by Savic et. al, what struck me was that the researchers found non-sex related neurological abnormalities associated with autism.

So my own theory is that hsts = genuinely feminized and agp = autistic brain + escapism + trauma. There's also a clear trend for AGPs to admit to having had their "egg cracked" by being exposed to gender fetish erotic / porn. My boyfriend says he got obsessed with this stuff after the Scooby Doo 2 gender scene and I found like 5 others online who said the same. They all got hooked on this at a young age, it was sexual, and it then escalated.

So you take a high iq, slightly traumatized 12 year old boy and show him soft gender bender erotica and he gets turned on by it and slowly begins building a female personality artifact. That artifact will defend itself / retcon events to doctors / etc. Narratives associated with hsts transsexuals are then coopted by autosexuals because they make normies view them as "trutrans."

Living with my boyfriend, it is painfully clear he is a male-brained person who wishes he were a woman. I sympathize with him and love him, but I am not going to lie about what's going on.
>>
>>42334529
>>42334612
AGP/hsts is not such a meaningful distinction as people want it to be.
I am not an autist and didn't suffer any trauma (that I know of, anyway).
At 21 I thought I "grew out of it" (like your gay coworker). Then at 30 it came back with vengeance. I repped harder for years to the point that this shit was eating 70%+ of my brain bandwidth.
I didn't even know the word "transgender" until age 19 or so (when I still wanted to be a woman) and found tranny porn at 22 or so (after I had "grown out of it"). I was always bi anyway. Still am.
Be that as it may, I did tell my wife about these things many years ago and kept her updated about it. She accompanied me to the psychiatrist and is aware that I started hrt.
It's a shitty thing to hide this from your partner. Even if it's understandable at some level.
>male-brained
Meh, even that concept isn't as helpful as this board would have you believe.
Both trannies and normalfags have, ironically, a lot more rigid concepts of gender despite claiming to be progressive about it.

>There are studies showing trans women's brains range from androgynous (similar to gay men aka "hsts") to just as masculine as cis men.
Generally yes, but they also detect differences in the AGP group - just in areas of the brain that are supposed to be sex dimorphic. This suggests that AGP runs very deep, or at least a biological predisposition to things like it.
There are always these pet psychoanalytic theories people have about where sexuality comes from but generally speaking there isn't much to support that AGP is caused by trauma. It's also a completely moot point as male sexuality is effectively fixed by late adolescence and can't be changed. If you have hope that he can "realize" that it's "trauma" and his sexuality will change, it won't. It doesn't work that way, especially not in males.
>My boyfriend says he got obsessed with this stuff after the Scooby Doo 2 gender scene and I found like 5 others online who said the same. They all got hooked on this at a young age, it was sexual, and it then escalated.
It's more like the sexual orientation is revealed. That's how Blanchard would view it. He does not believe that porn is a causal factor in AGP. Note that that scene isn't pornographic. I doubt that the vast majority of boys have the same response to it.
>Living with my boyfriend, it is painfully clear he is a male-brained person who wishes he were a woman. I sympathize with him and love him, but I am not going to lie about what's going on.
He's still trans. AGP can become a type of transsexualism according to the guy who coined the term.
>>
>>42334388
TO BE FAIR his characterization of HSTS trannies is also extremely unflattering
>>
>>42335219
>just in areas of the brain that aren't supposed to be sex dimorphic
Sorry needed to correct this. Dr. James Cantor floated the idea of it stemming from an issue with mirror neuron clusters. Interesting idea but not proven. Also, for some more autism dump, "female artifact" and "female artifact defending itself" is TERF lore. Blanchard never discussed this. AGPs may have strong emotional attachments to their "feminine selves" but there isn't actually a split personality going on here. Just an identity conflict over gender. Agreed that there can be some retconning going on but it makes sense that someone would try to reconcile such strong feelings in the present with their past self-narrative.
>>
>>42335272
It's also wrong. HSTS isn't about sexual orientation. It's about lifelong undervirilization which began prenatally. It just happens that that level of undervirilization almost always results in androphilia.
>>
>>42334612
ok this is slowly starting to feel like a "concerned citizen" terf post but i want to know where youre getting the female personality artifact from? like i dont see how how
>So you take a high iq, slightly traumatized 12 year old boy and show him soft gender bender erotica and he gets turned on by it and slowly begins building a female personality artifact.
is just a foregone conclusion how does the first part lead to the second part
>>
>agp nonsense
op don't bother with this but do break up with her unless you want to be a lesbian
>>
>>42335417
The blog that I saw using that term was run by a Scotsman named Rod Fleming. He had dated several trans women and said he preferred the "hsts" ones. He's probably what people in the trans community would consider a chaser.

>is just a foregone conclusion how does the first part lead to the second part
It wouldn't lead to it in all young boys, but in those who are subconsciously afraid to emotionally connect with women (due to toxic mother) it might. Especially if the sexual imagery they're shown happens during their "sexual awakening" as that period of time correlates with a greater degree of fluidity in one's identity.

Look at how furries have exploded over time and other paraphilias have become less common. My theory is that some people are biologically more prone to paraphilias although the one they develop will vary depending on their environment.

As for terfs, I haven't read much by them except for a site by "trans widows" and, desu, a lot of the behavior they described was accurate. However, I have also seen some who overstate their case and seem to hate trans women for wanting to be women (they dislike the desire itself).

If I had a magic pill that would let my boyfriend turn into a cis woman, I'd hand it to him and let him decide what he wants. The desire to be a woman isn't inherently bad. But I don't. I have a bf who is short, black, has super wide shoulders and a he-man chin and brow ridge, a porn addiction, and a traumatic childhood. He probably won't pass and I'm a bit concerned about if he's ignoring inner work that would help him

>He probably won't pass and I'm a bit concerned about if he's ignoring inner work that would help him
hrtrepping is a thing.
It alleviated troony thoughts from me. I'll never pass and that's fine. But now I can work without the constant distraction and nag.
Maybe discuss that with him?
>>
>>42335835
why are cis people like this
rod fleming isn't exactly someone to look up to but also if you really love your partner you need to break up with her and let her do this
>>
>>42335417
>starting to feel like a "concerned citizen" post
I'll second that.
OP is oddly fluent in all this. Makes me think she's either a terminally online autist of some sort, someone who's had a lot of therapy and picked up some of the lingo, or a very quick study.
>>
>>42335835
I still think you're barking up the wrong tree by trying to find some issue in her past as if you could change her by identifying it. How would you go about de-developing a sexual orientation or autism? Psychologists tried and failed for decades to change sexual orientation, and you can't restructure her brain. I think this is all a really roundabout way of dealing with your discomfort at her transitioning. If she's already on hormones and has b cups this was probably a long time coming. If you can happily date a transgirl then do so, if you can't then you should break up.
>>
>>42335963
>either a terminally online autist of some sort, someone who's had a lot of therapy and picked up some of the lingo, or a very quick study.
It's a bit of all 3 lol
