Most people who were cancelled for homophobia weren't politely disagreeing with LGBT people, they were usually being hateful, vitriolic and violent. Most of the homophobes who act like this go unpunished, only the tip of the iceberg makes it to the mainstream web and go viral, and only a portion of those will face any "cancelation" for it. In fact it's much more likely for an LGBT person to suffer hate crimes than for you to be cancelled for homophobia.
