>disconnected from my own body since as a child, never saw it as "me" but instead "the thing i control to interact with the world"
>frequent episodes of depersonalization/derealization
>tired and emotionally numb forever
>antidepressants dont work at all
>therapist keeps telling me to transition so then the symptoms will improve and ill be happy and not emotionally numb 24/7, even talked about a friend that transitioned trying to convince me

am i being psyopped or am i just stupid for not trooning out already? does hrt really has significant psychological effects that arent placebo?

I had your same experience before hormones and surgery, then never felt that way again after hormones and surgery. I could recognize photos of myself as being of me and my hands look like they belong to me and not a toy I puppet

Psyfag here. Not diagnosing, but you've tried more than one kind/dosage level of antidepressant, and done bloodwork to eliminate other hormone issues as problems?

>hrt really has significant psychological effects that arent placebo?
Hormone levels absolutely have significant effects, and E is a mild antidepressant.

Keep in mind you can get a second opinion, and that you can take hrt without necessarily physically transitioning. Different dosage levels exist. You didn't mention anything specific about gender in your opening post. You can also try it and stop if it doesn't work or has unacceptable negative side effects.
