I confided to a trans person that i related to their identity because i feel dysphoric about not having fur or a snout or a tail, and they got offended and said it wasn't the same. I'm curious how /lgbt/ feels about this. Was i out of line to say that? I genuinely feel that way and it bugs me that my body will never be the way i feel like it's supposed to be. It seems very comparable. But I am open to changing my mind

if you are actually serious about this i'm sorry especially because we do not have the means to help you with this in the same way we do typical trans people
but i understand what you are saying and it is valid

*pulls ur tail*

this social climate isnt ready for you but i believe you. you made a correct empathetic analogy but most people probably arent ready to take desires like that seriously even though you may be honest about them

I believe transracial and transspecies dysphoria is probably sometimes real and possibly similar, neurologically and psychologically, to sex dysphoria in some cases. Though I am not sure, and I am cisgender and cissexual myself so I cannot really empathize.

And of course it is complicated because every human sort of contains some aspects of both male and female biology and traits, while they do not really contain cross-race or cross-species traits.

don't you have homework to do
>>
no, this is not the same
humans often identify with animals, or might enjoy the idea of being more like an animal that they identify with, but this is not the same as what trans people experience because there are no "crossed wires" in the brain that can make you feel like an animal with a snout. You can't have the experience of living in a society where your body has unique medical problems and social stigma that everyone else's doesn't.
you're just idolizing some character that you have a special interest in.

You could have fur tho. Just never shave. And for the snout thats a bit tricky. you could wear one of those muzzles. Or just get a custom fursuit. But this is a sensitive subject for many. This is similar to saying a person who is white can transition to being black.

I don't get paid nearly enough to care about therians(?) either way. it doesn't really affect me if you feel dysphoric about not having a tail. Unfortunately, there's more to being trans than just the dysphoria: oftentimes our innate gender nonconformity makes us the target of violence even before transition; maybe people have discriminated against you for tail-lessness nonconformity(?), but I would have to see evidence first.

You're low-key real for this and most people (cis and trans) and aren't ready for it.

Yiff in hell furfag!
