I've had a lot of nightmares lately. I'm in something of a dangerous living situation so my capacity for transition has been choked out, not that I was really trying before. I think a lot of that anxiety has bled over into my dreamscape. My psych wants to get me off my antipsychotics or onto a lower dose and it's been really hard trying to convince her I need it. Australian doctors are a joke. I don't think I'd be able to function without my meds. Walking helps, though. Every night I go out on a two hour walk with the goal of getting 10K steps. It's cathartic and sometimes I can get Subway if I have the money for it. I really want to get out of Adelaide, or to an area where I have a chance to start fresh. I'm doing a bartending thing later this year, so that's exciting. I can't remember the last time I had a decent drink though, it's been a long time. If I drank now I'd probably puke it all up. I've been reading a lot too! I read Apothecary Diaries Volume 1. I told myself I'd never read a light novel but I got bored of waiting the anime to release new episodes. I actually think the light novel is better. It feels more like a loosely connected anthology with Maomao at its centre than a long form narrative with story beats to tick off. I also started Porpentine Charity Heartscape's 'Torture Works.' A lot of the short stories have been lost on me, but Cunt Toward Enemy was really good, even if it is kind of just fetish slop. PCH is really good at prose writing and character relationships. Last note, I've been working on my own writing projects where possible. I'm 40 pages into one and I think I'll squeeze 15 more pages out before I get to its conclusion, but who knows! I can never predict the length of these things. I have another project I want to make after I finish that one and I have lots of notes written out for it. Maybe I'll post it somewhere or share it with someone. Hope everyone has had a good 2026 so far. Let's give our everything this February!
