If I wanted to determine if Bateman specifically was methy, there are simpler ways. I hate to keep beating the same drum, but it matters how you do things and what you disclose and for what reason. The more I talk here, the more gets exposed. You have to think in second and third order consequence you can easily burn options later.

For example, lets assume I concoct a ruse involving me, Bateman and/or someone else to make contact with Bateman and it turns out to be methy, or not methy. Either way, I may have just burned options to approach other aspects that might be much more useful later on.

Lets assume it is methy. So he simply denies it. And what was actually gained from the attempt? What if its not methy and now I can't deliver another ruse with the same ease because now Bateman is spooked and has a mutual with methy who now knows a new future possible vector of attack, which I am disclosing now just by suggesting it.

You see the problem? This is just a fun puzzle, methy just happens to be the mark to make it funnier. There has to be a point and a plan that makes something worth it, and you want to develop information that forecasts what options might be available. You don't want to just rush in and say 'ha ha I found your (whatever)" and burn options. The point of the game is to stir shit in methys life for being such a cunt and to keep as much open for as long as possible until you have an angle to burn him to the ground.
