Hey I figured a thread for helping each other with our voices would be good! So let's do this!

Here's mine, I'm still a beginner I've been training for a month now : https://voca.ro/1ocKwY4GjcTt

for a month it sounds good
i know people who cant make any progress at all so keep it up
how often in that month have you been training?
>>
>>42721614
Your voice sounds pretty nice. It does sound like you have a cold, and I’m not sure if that’s from trying to raise pitch or what. Overall A+ :3

https://voca.ro/1ZhwPGruVBpR
Not really looking for any constructive feedback, just wanted to sing :p this song is almost too high for me.
>>
>>42721861
i think i have some sort of nasal condition that no one realized lel
my piercer brought it up when i was getting my nose pierced once but i havent followed up with a doctor unfortunately
you have a very pretty singing voice
>>
>>42721913
Hmm, have you gone to an ENT to have an examination or is it just not that big a deal. It doesn’t really impair passing, but I may be suffering from accent blindness.
>>
>>42721972
not yet
im going to talk to my doctor about it later this year to get a referral
im going through getting the gov to fund my orchi so im taking it one at a time
if it lines up as an option i might be able to get my rhinoplasty funded through it
>>
>>42721989
Best wishes wonderful!
>>
>>42721195
I think I remember you from a past voicegen thread, it sounds better now!

I never know what to say for these things, but like I said I just want some opinions for how I sound now
>>
>>42721195
yeah not bad for a month but keep working at it. pitch is not the main issue, focus on resonance and vocal weight first

>>42721614
i'd say this passes, though very low energy.

>>42721861
nice.

>>42722050
yeah no pass, voice is kinda heavy. cute tho imo.

soft spoken guy voice

This is what one year of half-hearted voice training sounds like:

>>
>>OP
it's decent prog for 1mo. pitch isn't the problem it's the weight and some resonance issues

>>penny
fagvoice, same issues as OP but your weight is worse. you are really pretty though

>>42722730
...male. go voicetrain. sorry but it's a waste of time for you to post if you don't. it's not an extremely terrible starting point you have no excuse

here's me: https://voca.ro/1elxmS1UTN8z
>>
>>42722877

>>42724185
for some reason this sounds almost like, like ai or something, but i can tell it's not. i think it's something about your microphone it's like the frequency is off. i feel like you absolutely sound like a woman though. a deeper voiced women then most women not very bright but definitely a woman, i can't imagine this being a guy. i don't think it's missing anything actually.

>>42725488

im sorry, im not sure youre all the way there yet, but i think you're close. i can picture the kind of woman this voice belongs to and she is a woman. im not sure what it is i dont know what advice to give you. maybe it's "resonance"? im not sure. in any case it's time for you to do FULL-hearted voice training for the next year. I believe in you so much i feel like youre already like 75% of the way there.
>>42722877
totally passes and is cute and is feminine and woman but it does sound a little online like uwu vtuber whatever, not really, just a tiny little bit. just a little. that's not necessarily a bad thing. youre not disgusting at all. not even a little bit. you sound really good there's like nothing wrong here at all. you sound great. im sorry how hard the world is on you it makes me so upset i don't blame you for feeling bad but i hate the world for letting you you should get like a billion dollars for free as compensation. if i was in charge id give you a billion dollars. or like, 10 million. a billion is probably too much for anybody to have.
>>42722730
>I just want some opinions for how I sound now
i always feel so cruel telling people they don't pass but i know it can be helpful. it sounds male, im sorry. sounds like no voice training and no real effort being made to sound feminine. it sounds gentle. i can hear the divine feminine in you i've met plenty of trans women who sound like you. something about it is a little cute maybe. but im afraid without context it does sound much more like a man than like a woman. it doesn't have to forever though
>>42722050
im sorry penny youre super pretty but i wouldn't consider your voice passing. just keep training this sounds super early on, probably most people sound a little bit like you at the start

hello voicegen. videos from the last general are psyching me out. specifically the "8 Exercises to Reduce Vocal Fold Mass" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1PNnBRBfOVY&t=146s seems to conflict with "How to make your voice feminine. No head voice. No falsetto." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L6ro2R3esHA or maybe the followup video from the description?

she said you want to project sound from the bottom of your throat instead of your chest, but not your head/nose? and then the other is saying "reduce vocal fold mass" means head voice but they dont like that phrase.

so the question i have is when vocalizing should there be no vibration in the throat? half the stuff in the 8 exercises seems voiceless so theres no vibration but itsnot like that when speaking right? or does vibration at the bottom of the larynx mean im doing it wrong? its hard for me to tell if i am doing thick/thin vocal fold mass but i think i can mimic her pretty well. i watched her video like 4 times now and i cant figure it out any tips pls

and the second question i had was exactly how much would you estimate your adams apple moves from masc voice to fem? like 1-2cm or fingers width? or the same as much as when you swallow cause for me thats like double or more the distance and much much more difficult. she said theres like a shelf?

It's 50% luck how much behaviour can change your voice, and it's easier starting younger (less social conditioning). I think most trans influencers are 25+?

It's also kind of fluid what a good voice sounds like - a lot of women 5+ years in have very androgynous voices that are carried by mannerisms or appearance.

Hunter Schafer is a good example of someone who has kind of a teenage gay boy voice, but it reads as quirky/cute to most people instead of male.

>>
>>42760060
it's mostly about being consistent. i think i sound better than a lot of people who are the same starting age + same time on hrt as me because ive been consistently voice training since i was like 15.
really though, you just have to be doing it every day. i mostly only trained through singing in the car on the way to and from work/school as soon as i started driving. i was originally only comfortable singing tenor and baritone (like real frank sinatra shit) and i could do some tenor if i really strained myself so i tried matching songs a little higher than my range until i was completely comfortable and repeated until my current voice. eventually i moved to female singers too and got forced to work on my resonance/weight if i wanted to match them. now i mostly listen to alto/low end soprano women, and im still kinda trying to push up a little higher, but not as much as i did when i was younger. i feel like rn i need to get better resonance and less nasal

most of those "voice training exercises" arent the best way to train imo; once you get the ability to consciously control your larynx and a mild understanding of the way speech works, its best to just try imitating. and the best way/least frustrating to imitate songs where you know what notes to hit and what words to say. in my opinion, of course

Practice seems most important for you? Need to become consistent and comfortable with your voice so you can express feminine vocal manerisms.
With being discouraged, conside4 that before you could Never sound the way you do now, and the only reason you sound the way you want sometimes is becaise you continue to practice and put in effort. Don't feel bad you can't do it all the time suddenly, of course you vant! But but but! Over time you can have more and more of your voice be the way you eish over the day.
Keep up the effort and.practice, its voice training and you'll never just find skmething that makes it click, consisinet TRaInNINg!

>>42767928
your voice sounds great, maybe a little too much weight. i wish we heard you speaking normally so we could hear your cadence and range

>>42760181
honestly not great pitch or weight passing-wise, but if youre only a couple of weeks' training from your initial baseline voice, the weight is really good and the pitch matches it well for this stage of training. good luck!! youll probably be fully passing in the next few months. maybe

>>42773748
it might be because instead of training yourself to be able to sound like that on your own, youre becoming able to match exactly what you hear but without being able to make it without another stimulus. if you use very high volumes try turning them down so your voice is much louder than the singer and make the pitches and resonance youre expecting without copying off the singer simultaneously. if that makes sense

Short clip I know, but outside of random cat sounds and stuff my friends have harvested from our calls, this is about as cute as I end up sounding.

Just set up my quest 3 for vrchat and promptly got invited by a man from Dubai into a private room. I'll probably practise more in vrchat because I get rewarded for being cute,

it's clocky but not terrible. your friends are mean. you'll get there! i'd say it would help if you worked on oropharyngeal closure? idk if others agree with me on this one

i think it's really getting there, just with more time i think the resonance will reach a less raspier range

passes

slightly clocky but still cute, with more practice i think it can get less raspy, and i think trying to shift slightly lower pitch would be beneficial
