The series continued to get bloated with system mechanics and moves just for the sake of upping the ante. Strive is successful precisely the same way Missing Link was: it's high octane and aggressive without being overwhelming to approach. It's not a casualisation, more so a refinement. It's the reset the series needed. The only people who bitch about Strive are the ones who think +R is the peak of the series and not an ugly, janky, bloated mess.
