>>42764267what happens if you have some emergency requiring surgery? if the answer is you die then yeah you're screwed but if the answer is "well obviously if you're going to die without surgery then we do it and you'll probably be okay but it's extra work for us and somewhat more risky" then you need to figure out what the relative percentages actually are and possibly find someone willing to take gender dysphoria seriously.obviously "if you die otherwise" is the extreme example but what you want to know is whether they'd quite happily fix some other birth defect because the impact on your quality of life is taken seriously in that context and not this one.
