Is support actually just tied to passing because I don’t know why after 5 years transitioning and 4+ years of being out to them my family and friends only support me less and still don’t want to be seen in public with me :/

Appearance is the most important thing. If you’re ugly or unfortunate looking, nothing you do matters. This applies to everything.

Not exactly. I found that passing better makes some people nicer and others worse. For new people passing obviously helps a lot, but then they can turn evil if they learn you are trans. For old people who hated me before, they now hate me in new and unexpected ways. I think there is a section of people that can 'get it' more once they see you're clearly not a man but its not a linear thing of passing making life more easy in all respects.
