As a kid I made up a fake girl who's sould was inside me cause I was a normal boy i just had a girl inside me and I used her name when I trooned out
>>
>>42778511
I don't get it how did you pick the name
>>
it wasnt very complicated for me. I kept an ear out for names that called out to me. Originally, I took names from famous women I looked up to or fictional women*--carefully avoiding names from women in my social circles--but I eventually decided to pick an ethnic and age-appropriate name. I'm feeling confident in my most recent pick, Pamela.

*NOT anime. dont pick an anime name like a fucking sperg please
>>
>>42778416
idk i always thought that it was an incredibly pretty name

so yeah im emilia

cool nicknames as well
>>
>>42778416
>I google my own assigned at birth name out of curiosity and to see if I've had personal information leaked anywhere
>It shows up with a 50/50 mix of women and men with the same name

Saved me the cost of going to change my name
>>
>>42778969
>*NOT anime. dont pick an anime name like a fucking sperg please
I did this but only because it's a Western name that happened to be in the top 100 girl names for my birth year/country, am I still a sperg?
>>
>>42778969
What do you think of Charlotte?
>>
>>42779092
Only downside of this is that people can easily guess your deadname
>>
>>42779092
The issue with this for me is Darian and Daria fucking suck

honestly i just listened to this album and instantly thought "yep that's the one. amelie fits me perfectly. that's me!"
i went with my language's version of it though so as not to be a clocky namehon weirdo. it's not a super common name but also not unheard of so i think it's fine. it has the added benefit of starting with the same initial as my deadname so i don't need to change my signature, and it might prove useful in certain situations until i legally change my name.
>>
>>42778416
a harrowing quest into the realm of fae where i slew one of their lords and cut his name from his corpse and consumed it for my own
>>
>>42778416
My parents had a name in mind for both genders before I was born so I'm just using the name I would've had if I weren't cursed to be a tranny
>>
>>42778416
i just chose what my mom wanted to name me anyway

its even clockier than my deadname is for ftms, which is considerable
>>
>>42778416
i spent an hour or so going through r/namenerds and found one that no one i know has + is nice
(also is june clocky....i haven't gotten anyone's opinions on it yet)
>>
Im going to ask again is Estelle a good girl name i just like that it means star
>>
>>42780457
You so aren't a star lmao
>>
>>42778416
>Erika
NO LITTLE GERMAN GIRL
>>
>>42778416
Idk I just picked a name I thought sounded nice
>>
>>42778416
The initials of my new name spell out SS and i think that's pretty funny
>>
>>42778416
i saw that "gen Z girl with no personality meets gen Z girl with no personality" tiktok and thought Paige was lowk a good name so I'm sticking with it
>>
I DON'T REMEMBEEEEER

I CAN'T REMEMBER

I DON'T KNOW WHY DO I HAVE THIS FUCKING NAME

At least people tell me it fits me.
>>
>>42778416
i random name generated until i found a name i liked and went with that for like 4 years. eventually thought of a name that suited me a lot better, lots of little reasons like ethnically suiting me and my personality, also as little nods to things that mean a lot to me. it just kinda came to me one day.
>>
>>42778416
I picked the name my mom wanted for me before I was born because she wanted a girl
>>
>>42779485
i dont understand how that helps you to pass
>>
>>42778969
>Pamela
Hot.
There was a hot Pamela in highschool
>>
>>42779232
try being
>Jimmifer
>>
>>42778416
I was like 7 and just used the feminine version of my deadname in my head before I even knew what trannys were and ig it stuck
>>
>>42781112
yeah im guessin that pamela wasnt a transition gender
>>
>>42778416
I never was super dysphoric about my name so I just went from Daniel to Danielle, but I do mostly go by Elle.
>>
>>42778416
it starts the same as my old name and my bullies used to call me it so i just went with it
>>
>>42779490
what a way to discover both of your parents are unimaginative reppers
>>
>>42781389
people fucking call you dan
i can only imagine how much of an ogre you must be
>>
>>42779092
same tbhon
i have a gender neutral nickname that i want to keep because i like it
>Me, just female.
yeah it's nice because going for completely new name makes me feel less like me
>>
>>42782138
>Stevenella
>>
>>42781389
oh i missed this lol me too
i like going by Danny/Dani
i would spell it Dany if game of thrones didn't ruin that one
>>
>>42782169
in what world does steve have a gender neutral nickname
>>
>>42778416
i stole it from my best friend at the time i was secretly in love with and just changed it to the girl version
>>
>>42778416
It is a gender neutral name and I got it from one of the guys in my dad's favorite glam band. I bet you think it's Tracy. You probably think so. But it's not. It's not Dana either.
>>
>>42778416
i took the name i was baptized as and then genderbent it. its a timeless name and also not some retarded bs since its literally a family name
dimitria
>>
>>42778416
I chose Marcellina because when I was suicidal the first person I came out to got a piece of paper and started writing down a list of all these different names I could be, and I chose from that list.
>>
>>42783484
I literally saw you in another thread
>>
>>42783497
i forget have i said my name and shown my face at the same time? oopsies
>>
>>42783500
No just the name its unique enough
>>
>>42783503
Also it was recent like a day or two ago or so
>>
>>42783503
oh lol good !! do you like it?
>>
>>42783509
I’ve never heard it before, I’ve known a dimitri but not a Dimitria. Im not greek enough to honestly give my opinion and give a good answer. If it’s as common as dimitri, you get flying colors from me
>>
>>42783536
yeah its fairly common for greeks + its orgin is literally demeter so its kinda always been feminine in a way
>>
>>42778416
I picked a recurring name the women of my family have had for generations
My parents didn't name my sister the name and my aunt and uncles were mad at them
I chose the name for myself
My parents don't like to talk to me anymore but my aunt appreciated the name so much she's like a second mom to me now atp
>>
>>42783574

Picked a Fitzgerald character I related to. I too fixate on what I cannot have and will never understand by the very nature of my existence, and on recreating this lost experience I was never entitled to in the first place. And I'm after that bag
>>
>>42783478

>>

i used the name of my eating disorder
>>
>>42783838

>>
>>42778416
i stole my mom's middle name... its not like she was using it or anything
>>
>>42778416
I was carmen because carmen lobotomy corp and now im Erin because I know some people who had the name and I like it
>>
>>42783973
you gotta go off vibes and especially mouthfeel if that makes sense
>>
>>42778416
my parents gave me a boy and a girl name (middle name)
so I didn't really have to pick a new name
I just used the other one my parents gave me
>>
>>42778416
top names (year I was born) (country)
didn't like #1 because I had beef with someone with that one #2 was my cousin #3 was there so i picked that one
In retrospect I wish I put more thought into it
I have like 2 or 3 names that I think fit me more but like now I have too many friends to change it
>>
>>42778416
I just kept my name Xander because there’s a girl named Zander on Instagram and I think she’s cool

>>
>>42784076
Do you think she picked that name because people told her she smells fishy?
>>
>>42778416
I was born with the name Jessie and I changed it to Jesse. My mother said I'd have had the same name if I were born AMAB. Later changed my name to Jerzy because it seemed like the most similar Polish name to my original name (yes, I know that it means George).
>>
>>42784098
Why the second change?
>>
>>42784106
I moved to Poland and as soon as I could I changed my full name into a Polish name.
>>
My cis friend was really high in the group chat and she kept calling me "charlotte chrysalis webb" for some reason. At the same time the house I was staying at was on Charlotte Street so I went with it.
..it's not the name I go by to friends, though

>>42778416
I just stole Alex Vause's name because she was hot and i wasn't going to fall into the TrannyTrap of calling myself 'Lilith'.
>>
>>42778416
idr how i picked it as a kid, but it was like a pseudonym i used a lot. i think there was one girl with that same name in the daycare I was in and I thought it was a really nice name.
and then when I trooned out i just thought, why not just use that name. I looked at some genealogy stuff and found a great aunt with the same name who died exactly 100 years earlier, so that kinda made it even more fitting.
>>
>>42778416
I named myself after my ffxiv character cause im an autistic faggot
>>
>>42778416
My mom accidentally let it slip how I'd be named if I had been born XX. Since I was "confused for a girl" most of my life anyway, I've grown accustomed to using both the feminine version of my birth name and the name my parents would've picked.
So when time came, I picked that one and also feminized the birth name.
Things went smoothly because I mostly passed even before hrt.
>>
>>42784135
nta
My name sounded Slavic enough already. But you're based for the effort to integrate.

>t. roon from Romania now living in Poland
>>
>>42778416
I've always liked the name Elin and i wished it was my name as a kid and its a very common name here in sweden so it was an easy choice to make
people say that it suits me so i guess i made the right choice
>>
>>42779012
ok saeko
>>
>>42778416
Mostly thought what nicknames would come from the choice, and which could reasonably be called neutral/masc if i wanted
Turned out i independently chose the name my mother wanted for a daughter
>>
>>42784539
>Elin
means organ (like as in an organ in your body, not the instrument) in finnish, keep that in mind if you ever come across the gulf kek
>>
>>42783494

>>
>>42783574
that's a common ruse that nonsupportive families use to get you to detrans
has she asked you about detransing yet
>>
>>42783973
erin is too close to Ernie
you are a namehon
>>
im a tranny so...
also I wanted something non androgynous
>>
>>42787090
>ALLISON
>ALL
>I
>SON
>>
I made a smash.gg bracket (double elim) with every name i liked and thats how I decided. It was the last autistic thing I did.
>>
I wrote down vowels, and pleasantly sounding bigrams and consonants, then dowsed the best ones using a pendulum /x/ style. Then then I wrote out all permutations of I think the four best picks, and chose the most comforting name which feels the most like 'me' if that makes sense. Idk why I chose such a complicated method but I'm happy with the name I ended up with.

>>
>>42787112
my last name when translated also means "son of (name)"
>>
>>42778416
I wish I could explain without doxxing myself but I put a lot of thought into it.

>when shortened my new name kinda sounds like my deadname(makes it easier for friends and family)
>it has aspects of the name my parents would’ve given to me in case I was born a girl
>has a cute feminine meaning
>it happens to be the name of an anime character but I’m not a fan of the thing they are from so it’s not cringe plus I’m asian
>>
>>42778416
i asked my mom what names she wanted to name me and picked a gender neutral one
>>
>>42778416
named myself after the female sibling of these two characters from a popular franchise since i shared the name of the male sibling already
didn't want to take the name of someone i knew and i found the name amusing at the time
now its awkward when people do background checks on me
