It's about creating community and connection. The people who get the least community connection, and I say this as an autistic non-passing trans woman, are the Asexuals who just wind up alone and miserable until they either kill themselves (men) or die of obesity related illness and get eaten by their horde of cats (women). There's legal stuff too that should be looked at, like the fact that an asexual person is never going to get paid parental leave. But it's really the social thing that is neglected even within LGBTQIA+, and just not even recognized as an issue outside of it.

Like 70% of movies and songs are about romance and I realized lately that I'll never understand what it's talking about. People my age are getting married and having kids and I feel like a teenager compared to them. My strategy for the future is to go to a big city and find some irl aro/ace circles, hopefully I'll make some connections there. But yeah being ace I think is much worse in the long run than being trans in this day and age imo.

Remember you are not alone, remember it's about 1% of the population, so if you're living in a town with 500 (a small town) people in it chances are there are 5 other people going through the same thing living basically right next door. 2. There are other options, you just have to be concious about it. Once you accept that cishet neurotypical is out, you realize there's a whole bunch of people who are being left out of a normiestream life. Volunteering and community service can be a really good way to find people who, while not necessarily ace, won't be doing the kids and career thing. The big city is not the solution to all queer problems. In fact I've held for a long time that the big cities now present more problems than they solve for queer and especially trans people. The rise of poverty, crime and drugs for one, and the anonymity of big city living, which non-passing trans women do not get, gives cover to violent transphobes. Plus you're much more likely to be exposed to immigrants coming from transphobic and homophobic cultures who may not understand that expressing those ideas in public isn't acceptable. The big city isn't a cure-all. A country town can provide both safety and support.

I get what you mean but even for just a few years I kinda want to live in a big city still, even though it is kinda scary for the reasons you highlighted and more.I have some friends in Paris which is the biggest city close to me and I want to give a shot at getting to see them regularly and easily. In the meanwhile I am trying to get more in touch with my local community, especially through political action. We'll see how that works out.
