I've been thinking about this and I've started to think this has been a pretty genius play.
>Neutralizes the only issue about tranners that actually enrages the normie public
>As tranner activists will say themselves, there's almost no trans people in competitive sports anyways, especially schools, so harm is minimal
>Tranners rage about Gavin as a result, but this doesn't hurt him because tranners hardly vote anyway
>Due to the volume of tranner rage, Gavin appears reasonable on the tranner question to the normie public; liberals who actually have jobs are sympathetic to his machination here and conservatives think "oh he's not one of the crazy dogma libs"
>All this will position him to use the expanded powers of the executive branch to actually broadly push forward and normalize lgbtq rights
He's basically decided that he will carry the burden of tranners hating him in order to save them from themselves and transphobic society.

mixed bag but as always we know he'll fold on the more meaningful issues anyway
>>
Honestly the correct choice.

Regardless of what the average trans person argues i dont think you will convince the average normie that being AMAB isnt an advantage, and testosterone plays a huge advantage to how much muscle you can gain. If a transwoman is winning female sports imo they arent nuking her testosterone enough.

It also shouldn't be politicians jobs to decide this. Each individual sports federation should decide.

I know this is a very leddit comment but the fact that girls sports is one of the top political issues right now is insane
>>
>>42895547
He has to address it because of Title IX stuff and public schools, it's unavoidable that the government be somehow involved when it comes to public schools, and refusing to take a stance is viewed as anti-trans by tranners and "anything goes" anarchy by conservatives
>>
>>42895564
that's deliberate, it's just anti-intellectual authoritarian thinking

this is fundamentally the same kind of thing kamala harris did and the gambit is entirely that gavin newsom is a better liar than kamala harris
even more than they want someone who agrees with them, voters respect someone who will actually make the argument and advocate for the real beliefs they hold. most people don't think trannies should compete in women's sports, but most people also don't actually care that much about trans issues.
the reality of the situation is that trans women athletes on hrt don't have an advantage over cis female athletes. most people have literally never heard that case made. our "allies" are out here arguing that it's a tradeoff between inclusion and fairness because a bad argument signals greater loyalty to the coalition (as opposed to the coalition's causes) than a good argument. if you make a good argument for something, people might think you did it because you actually believed it was true. saying things just because they're true and doing things just because they're good makes you a less reliable member of any political coalition that isn't laser-focused on the true and the good.

they should just come out and say they hate trannies bc dems will still vote for them anyway and moderates clearly enjoy being lied to
>>
>>42895478
don't they use trans women as rape holes for male prisoners in california? i don't think he's as based as you think
>>
>>42895478
people that hate him just found retarded reason, those people are subhuman commies(self identifying socialists) and would never vote for him anyway *insert contrapoints meme*

v-coding moment

That's been my position from the start tho?
I don't care about sports. The ban on playing women's chess is levels of retarded, but I am absolutely sick of every boomer in my town lining up to explain to me why I, as a 40 year old autistic tranny, shouldn't be able to compete in the women's 50 metre freestyle at the olympics.

The worst part about pretending to be a man was having to give a shit about sports, I don't have to do that any more and I'm not going to. Ban us, don't ban us, idgaf.

Based.
I do the same in my daily life by being wildly misogynistic to my mtf friends.
Sometimes it works and they literally cook me some good food too.
