Holy hell I should start before this dies on arrival, it’s a bit long and rambly but just skip through it there’s plenty to judge I hope. Will reply to others if this stays afloat fingers crossed.

I wish I had advice, you sound like a girl, maybe mannerisms? I hope you find better advice, I'm not around people with your accent often anyway so I can't really give good advice <~>
even with rasp and mumbles you pass
>>
>>42934186
I kinda wonder what you look like now. Maybe it's one of those things you just get used it over time and I think if people just didn't point it out it would help and maybe that's how that "confidence" would come about, does that make sense? Maybe that's also why you thought of the whole going to a different place thing.

you should include this in the resources next time

full pass, have a trans accent yknow and sounds like ur scrunching your mouth or something? like obscuring the sounds. But the actual resonance and pitch is peng

also for vocal fry I try to avoid it but my natural even moid voice is fried to fuck. It's less to do with resonance more about the tightness of your vocal folds I think, try to "strain" lightly more and more until you start getting fry

you can try doing it in your native language. Tried it with romanized japanese and it worked-ish. doesn't pick up everything but it gets a jist

Ok wow voicegen lives, replies first then feedback.
>>42940256
>maybe mannerisms?
Which makes me think a wider confidence problem again? My accent is even included in that because when I’m on the spot I feel it’s more transatlantic but after I speak for a while and loosen up that goes away. Might record myself speaking to someone on a call at some point as a more natural sounding example.
>>42940258
I posted in passgen a few times at the start of the year again so could dig through the archive if you’d like because I posted myself speaking with face once and people were really positive about it.
>Maybe it's one of those things you just get used it over time and I think if people just didn't point it out it would help and maybe that's how that "confidence" would come about, does that make sense? Maybe that's also why you thought of the whole going to a different place thing.
No I think I do because when I say about getting away part of it’s because I’m still surrounded by family and friends telling me how much they hate my voice and want it to go back to my old one etc, just on top of the general lack of transition support. Thank you becasue this feels like the logical answer but I’ve just been a bit of scared of "getting used to it" and nothing actually changing.
>>42940264
>full pass, have a trans accent yknow and sounds like ur scrunching your mouth or something?
I mention in the recording how I have a lot of rasp and almost fake a yawn to try hide the lack of confidence I have in my voice so I wouldn’t be shocked if scrunching’s included. Accent’s the only thing I still can’t decide if I have to train back in more or just wait around for.

>>42940243
Hmmmm, I get that feeling of passable and non-passable moments. I think everything’s there but you have to lighten your vocal fry just the tiniest bit as too much leads to building strain which leads to those occasional dips in your voice you hint at. Pitch and resonance sound fine though you’ve just kinda got the usual basic voice-training voice but if it passes that’s all that matters lol.
>>42940270
This is the only link it’s letting me open for some reason but first off totally agree with your advice for the other poster. Secondly, voice passes BUT let your pitch fluctuate a little more because it almost sounds too perfect? To the point it’s a little robotic or you sound anxious maybe? I think you need to find a wider pitch range for your voice and almost I guess relax into it?
>>42940361
Perfectly pass, just be careful for strain.

Also think comparing myself to Americans in here doesn’t help my own voice doubts lol
>>
>>42940395
yeah I try to add more pitch fluctuations but it always just sounds wrong idk maybe im just autistic it doesn't fit my personality

Oh don't worry I understand, my original voice was really deep and mumbly and monotone too and I still want it to come out at least a little, but I think this clip is a massive improvement. It’s up to you because yk your voice probably passes fine irl, it’s just nitpicking at the end of the day same as in passgen and all these other advice threads.

how does everyone itt sound hot

how should i approach making my resonance better without straining and fucking up my voice? i can get it to be tranny sounding but then cant really go farther even though the pitch is mostly alright

voice gen is back! here's me:
https://vocaroo.com/1m7FYxAbYQ1p

>>42934186
I can't say anything about your face but your voice 100% passes; it's just no question
I also have some problems with my face that I think cause people to avoid gendering me sometimes. but what you can control is clearly and naturally fem

>>42940243
pass! I feel like you do this thing I also sometimes do, where you're engaging an "extra" muscle in your throat in order to achieve a certain effect, which gives your voice a slight lower "shade," almost like a secondary resonance sitting below the main one. sometimes I find this happens just because I'm holding phlegm in my throat while I talk, or "holding" something too hard. relaxing would help maybe? but this is a nitpick and on average you just sound like some of the deeper-voiced girls at my church

>>42940264
pitch is super clean and clearly fem. I think you're probably already aware you have a bit of a monotone going on. what I've personally found is that when I allow my voice to drop 10-20 hz so I have more pitch modulation range, I like my own voice better because it has a sense of music. maybe you could try that? because your basic mechanics are already very good and I think now it's a question of style

>>42940361
file was deleted :(

>>42941060
I'm glad you have a job as a server, tipping culture toxicity aside it's a very good job (I did it for years). I feel like doing the "heavy lifting" of getting your pitch closer to a fem range will be a good start, because it sounds like you just need vocal "exercise" right now. it might be helpful for you to do some exercises, like humming while rhythmically raising and lowering your pitch, so you can feel the sensation of having your voice too deep in your throat vs. where you want it in your face. when I started training myself to notice vocal drops and correct for them, my voice training totally transformed
>>
another set of replies, here's me again:
https://vocaroo.com/1m7FYxAbYQ1p

>>42941167
from what I can tell, your voice is super far forward in your nose, almost as though you're scrunching your nose up as you speak. this might be a natural thing that you do because of the sounds you use in Hungarian, or it could be something you're unwittingly doing to achieve nasal resonance maybe? whatever the cause, try fully relaxing your face and recording yourself again, listening to it, and then focusing on saying each sound slowly and deliberately without any vocal pressure or tension, even if it means your pitch drops or fem quality declines.

>>42942014
you sound excellent overall. I don't think I'd ever realistically clock you, but if you're looking for an improvement, I think you can elongate and soften your sounds a little bit. male speech is a little more staccato, with "sharp" peaks and valleys between words, almost like speech is abrupt. female speech is a little more "flowy," with I think gentler peaks and valleys between words

here's me demonstrating if you want to take a listen: https://voca.ro/1afDl8rnqly2

ok sorry i'm not an expert like some of the other nonas here seem to be but i'll give my non-expert opinion in case it helps!

>>42934186
you kind of sound like bjork, but a bit raspier! i think it's just the accent, though, since i don't listen to a lot of people that sound like you. i think your voice passes quite well, and you should feel more confident! i know that's easier said than done, though. i hope you can get away from your unsupportive friends and family, i'd imagine it'd make things a lot easier for you

>>42940243
pass! i get the moments of listening to you where i hear the slight dips other people are talking about, but i don't think it's a big enough problem that someone who isn't listening for it would clock you. and it makes your voice a bit more unique, too!

>>42940264
wow your voice passes super well! it's maybe a bit monotone but like you're reading a script so it makes sense, i think everyone is kind of like that. i'd imagine it'd be more expressive if you were just talking normally

>>42941060
to me you sound like a tranny voice training, but idk what the average cis person would think. something about your voice is reading more as fagcent than feminine? i wish i were more voice training pro level so i could help. the best way i can describe it is that your voice doesn't sound very bright? if i imagine voices as a spectrum from masculine to feminine, i think your low end is on the masculine side but your high end is on the feminine side. so instead of lying in either of the two ends of the spectrum and passing as that end, you kind of cover the whole thing as you talk, and it sounds very androgynous. you probably just need more voice training like the other two replies are saying. also stop smoking RIGHT NOW!!!! don't be STUPID!!!!!!!!!!!
>>
oh right i forgot to attach my audio, here is me! https://vocaroo.com/1du2rTSxBZsk
be nice or i'll be super sad but also you have to be honest because i really want to get better

>>42941167
hmmm idk enough about hungarian to tell. you do sound pretty nasally, but maybe that's just how the language is. i'm imagining what you look like when you talk and i can't help but picturing you scrunching up your face like you just ate something sour. you pass a lot better when you talk in hungarian than english!

>>42943871
i think you sounded a lot better here! it felt like i got a wider range of your voice than before. if you still sound kind of nasally despite relaxing your face, maybe that is just the language or your voice, then? from an english-speaking american, it sounds a little jarring, but that's probably just the accent more than the clockiness

>>42942014
woah you pass super well! you definitely sound a lot better to me at like the 30 second mark when you pull off on the weight, i think it's a good sound for you!

>>42943493
wow 2 years congratulations!!! also oh my god your story is terrifying why would she explain why she misgendered you in front of like 40 people..... that seems evil....... anyway you pass, like, perfectly! i don't think i'd clock you even as another trans person. your voice is very nice and sounds very smooth! i'm super proud of you nona, good job getting to this point!!!
>>
>>42944151
thank you so much for your kind words, you totally made my morning especially since I was feeling self-conscious!
I know starting off feels super daunting. the thing that made the biggest difference for me early on was singing and humming
load up a singing warmup video and just hum along to the notes with your mouth closed
you'll notice as you get to the higher notes that the buzzing in your face shifts from being in your throat and the front of your mouth and starts to come instead from your sinuses and nasal passages
that feeling is what we think of as feminine resonance and it's the best place to start when it comes to feeling and experimenting with your voice.
try:
1) putting your voice "forward" into your nose without being nasally
2) softening your consonant sounds as much as possible
>>
>>42932754
Hi I have a really specific request
I am mtf with a relatively deep voice, I love my voice, it's at least 20% feminine already and other people love it too

Between that and my refusal to give up smoking I want a girl voice that is deep and sultry like a 30s prostitute, are there any guides on getting my voice the rest of the way there?
>Record it
No, I recently started on hrt and it all makes me feel cringe right now

super passoid. you can almost argue it's clocky because it's too feminine that's how good it is

>>42943556
passoid in most aspects honestly. but a little heavy, it doesn't prevent passing though, and in some respect it adds richness to your voice. that woman is a bitch even though you didnt voicepass before

>>42943871
so nasal it's hard for me to even talk about the other qualities because it legitimately obscures them sorry

>>42944151
twinkhonny but it's not a bad position to make progress from. more resonance, and soften your enunciation.
VCing online is really good it's basically 100% how i trained
