Did anyone else develop ADHD-like symptoms after starting HRT, it's like I can't focus on anythingI have like six assignments for this week that I haven't even started work on
>>42966229No. I realized I had ADHD after I'd been transitioning for a while. The estrogen helped clear my head to understand what was really wrong.
I went to get testing for autism after I came out and when I got that I started associating less with the adhd diagnosis since autism seem to be causing more of my problems than ADHD
>>42966311It's called AuDHD. The reason ADHD takes such precedence medically is because the treatment for ADHD is a schedule 1 narcotic (cocaine), while there is no real treatment for autism. Doctors focus on what they can do and ignore what they can't (this is a much bigger problem than just autism). But from a political/activism perspective I think the autism is more important. Even tho trans is the most obvious part of me, I think the autism has been the bigger part of my marginalization, meanwhile the ADHD is treatable so the only effort required there is equitable access to care (which is starting to happen).
>>42966311>>42966404Oh. I already have an autism diagnosis so should I just go ahead and get checked for ADHD
>>42966229I refuse to get diagnosed with more labels. Especially lifelong shit like ADHD or autism, knowing I have the issue doesn't change the time I was alive unbeknownst to the issue, and knowing it now won't improve my life anyways. The real move is to just not give a shit and accept the fact that I've probably got problems, but since I already made it so far, I might as well keep going. GD was enough, I simply bulldoze through life and not give a shit unless it kills me
>>42966229low testosterone often has this effect. i have heard it gets better after a while after starting hrt but i wouldn't know>t.repper
i have adhd but i don’t think about it really i was diagnosed with it before transitioning and have more harrowing things to focus on now
>>42966488You'll find the diag for ADHD is astonishingly expensive. The answer is broadly yes, because the drugs work. But also destroy capitalism.
>>42966585the drugs are also fun
>>42966824If they're fun you don't have ADHD.
>>42966311I got diagnosed with ADHD 3 years ago. Socially, I'm a lot better, but I lack any deep or meaningful connections with people and seemingly the ability to make new relationships. I still fuck up occasionally by taking speech literally or not realizing people's intentions, or I'll recognize a social cue but struggle with my response. I still can't pass a job interview. Women want to fuck me though, so it's confusing
>>42967281no you just take more
>>42966229no. turns out my ADHD was actually dysphoria induced dissociation
