When I start talking about the problems facing baby trans women, things like access to medical care, safe spaces for experimentation, developing local community support networks, the theyfab I'm dealing with (whose age and BMI are both at least 50), immediately starts finding ways to be a problem. I can't get even basic shit, like setting up a community discord server, done. Never mind something actually difficult like trans inclusivity education for local nurses, or encouraging more doctors to get training on transgender health. The most basic shit can't happen unless it first acknowledges her as the grand pubah supreme of all trans people in my area. Not only cannot I not for the life of me see even the tiniest bit of gender non-conformity in her, but she lapses back into feminism and he opression as a woman whenever it's convenient for her. Like it's her right as a woman to say that she's trans and have everyone recognize that and that's the only trans issue that matters.

When you use it as a synonym for gender you're using it in THE EXACT OPPOSITE way to how it's meant to be used. When we talk about AFAB we are talking about people who were assigned female at birth, some of whom will actually be men, because trans men are men. When we talk about female socialization we are talking about the way parents, teachers and society as a whole raises children they percieve to be girls. Many trans men did experience female socialization and this will present an ongoing problem in their lives going forward. More importantly many trans women experience male socialization which is the intentional infliction of trauma, and it take a lot for us to get over that, if we even can. When you talk about afab socialization instead of female socialization, you erase the trauma I experienced as a female who was male socialized, by erasing my identity as an adult human female.
