Her books blew my mind with their integration of math and science into literature. I was in 2nd grade, and I was like, whoa this book is kinda too advanced for me but I love it. I think I read the whole wrinkle of time trilogy in 3 days or less and I read a bunch of the other books too. If I'm being honest, my favorite series as a child was the Boxcar Children, a family of wayward children who escaped their parents (or the parents died, I forget), and lived aboard a train I wanna say and had adventures. I read every book in the series and there were dozens of them. I have no emotional connection to my parents and the idea of free kids getting to explore was quite compelling.
