If I ever own a bar or something I want to name it Sisyphus Happy
>>
>>43042521

>>
i dont understand philosophy
>>
>>43042521
i've never read more than one book by the same philosopher so i can't really say that i have a favorite or care
why not read poetry instead
>>
>>43042521
do theologians count as philosophers? if so dietrich bonhoeffer
>>
>>43042788
A lot of it is actually more straightforward than you might be assuming it is. It can get confusing if a particular philosopher isn’t a very clear writer, or if you’re not familiar with the specialized terminology that’s sometimes used. If you ever want to learn about it you can just take a 101 level class and keep a cheat sheet of definitions for the specifialized phrases used in the texts covered.

I hope you’re a troll

>>
>>43042966
Kek, I guess I should read him sometime. I got the CliffsNotes summary of his work years ago when I was listening to Philosophize This. My memory of him is all jumbled up with Sartre.
>>
>>43043048
very well... I will simply dismiss my creditors and acquire better ones!

>>
>>43043130
tragic. guess you could always cheat on your wife.
>>
>>43042521
i find baudrillard's writing endlessly fascinating. his ideas are like the most pointless way to break your brain.
>>
>>43043120
I don’t think it’s really a necessary thing to study to be happy, so if it didn’t appeal to you I wouldn’t worry about it. I took a 101 level class my freshman year of undergrad that went over the Symposium and a couple other foundational Greek texts. I had a good professor which helped, but the thing that got me was how much it was about fairly literal issues related to individual experience and society. I wasn’t a philosophy major and only took a few more classes in the department, but I ended up reading a fair amount more on my own just out of curiosity.
>>
>>43043184
Oh uh, I don’t have a wife, just a gf. Should I cheat on her, do you think that would help?
>>
>>43043281
given she is her own, why dont you ask if shed like to cheat on you instead?
>>
>>43043304
I mean, I’ll go talk to her about it if you think it’s for the best. I’m starting to lose the plot a bit though… what am I doing this for again?
>>
>>43043325
because youre a cat, darling. curled up tight before an ever glowing anus.
>>
>>43042875
Not everyone is intelligent enough to understand Petersonian philosophy.
>>
>>43043339

Oh nice, I’ve always liked kitties. I have a dog curled up on top of me currently- do you think that will present any problems with me being a curled up cat? Also when did that anus come into things?
>>
>>43043356
That’s the biggest kek I’ve had today, thank you anon
>>
>>43043372
not at all, dogs are well known for getting stuck in cats. moreover, the anus is primordial, its more like you came into being through its warm sunny rays.
>>
>>43043401
Ooooh okay, it’s all coming together now. I’ll go pad across the floor into the other room, and invite my gf to cheat on me. Hopefully she’ll understand my meows. Then I’ll curl up with my dog and bask in anal sun beams for the rest of the night. Is that what I should do? Any salient details I’m missing?
>>
>>43043449
>Any salient details I’m missing?
the obligatory ketamine

>>
>>43043460

Quite gauche to be sure.

Well thank you anon, that was very helpful. Good luck with whatever whimsical hallucination you’re living through, and I’ll continue with this one you’ve assigned me.
>>
I spit on your philosophers
for now I drink beer and later I will be drinking blood

>>43043563
gl with the tortoise. Don’t respond if it taps out “Shave and a Haircut” on your door. That is definitely a trap.

I’m sorry anon, we seem to speak slightly different dialects of catonese. Your mainland accent is hard for me to understand. I feel my consciousness slipping away, and I’m afraid the tortoise will soon seduce you and consummate his wicked designs
>>
>>43042650
I didn't know u were based like that lothbrok
>>
>>43043822
Anon, do not frighten me so. My loins have thus far skilfully evaded the evil designs of women.
>>
>>43043849
Human women are a trifle compared to their shelled leathery counterparts. Testudinidae have an affinity for testes that make them the natural downfall of a chaste man. I am sorry anon, I wish I could help you in this trying situation, but a red dot has appeared on the floor next to me. It dances round teasingly, and I fancy I can catch it if I am clever and my paws swift.
>>
>>43043911
may god grant lift to your feline wings, and your prey suffer an untimely fate.

i shall think of your joy in my moments misery, and maybe for but a moment, i shall pierce the veil.
>>
>>43043926
Thank you anon, your prayers fill me with a renewed sense of purpose. The grace of the Trinity flows through my furry lottle limbs, and out along my fluffy tail.

Since I am unable to offer you succor while you endure the embrace of the shelled one, I will instead live well! In this way I hope that when you think of me in your throes of unwelcome ecstasy you’ll know I am leading a good life.

The only fly in the ointment of this plan is that the little red dot moves rapidly, flicking in and out of existence faster than my feline eyes can follow. I thought I caught it once, only to find my paws were empty
>>
>>43043926

I’m sorry anon, I have to go. My gf and I need to get groceries, and my mind and body have become almost completely feline at this point. Alas the red dot seems illusory and totally beyond my ability to catch. I’ve observed no less than a dozen occasions where I know I have caught it beneath my fluffy paws; only to find no trace of the creature when I peek beneath them. I’m afraid it is an impossible task I’ve been condemned to for eternity. I hope when you think of me in the bridal chambers of that wicked terrapin you can imagine me how I’d like to be remembered. You must imagine this puss happy. :3

Being a bi festinha on the world stage must not be easy for Anitta, with so many women wanting her to hook up with her, and she only kisses in music videos. Not even in music videos most of the time, because Anitta has so little talent; her most recent song is just "dick," "dick," "pussy," "pussy," etc.

Kant for modern philosophy
David Lewis for contemporary
Lewis is to me what Hegel was to Foucault, whenever I try to escape him down some untravelled path I will see him at the end of it laughing and laughing
Most importantly
James Ladyman had a very important impact on my (actual) life even though I never went into academia in the end
