DL2 didn't improve on like anything else. all the characters and their perks are significantly worse, the dialogue writing was quirk chungus tier, every character I wanted to shoot in the face. guns were also mostly useless in that title despite the mods being objectively better. the card system was dumb, if it didn't release in 2023 I would say the story was 100% generically generated by AI trained on zombie games from its predecessors era. some people enjoyed DL2 being more linear.. it took away the horror of the jungle vibe the 1st title nailed imo.didn't play DL2 DLCs so maybe they patched in QOL fixes since I dropped it, but it was a major slog past the beginning and the ending was an abrupt brickwall that left what salvageable plot it had hanging in the wind. 5/10 fine as a time killer but i would never replay a story like that lol.
