High femme presentation can easily have a boomerang effect on mtfs and make us look uncanny, while butch presentation can easily make you just look like a dude. For me it was ~3 years on HRT and laser hair removal completed before I would even consider trying to present butch. Fortunately, I seem to have judged my progress fairly accurately as I didn't have issues with passing. That said, my day to day presentation is more low femme or futch than true butch

I started ST4T about two years ago, and what has fascinated me is how we began as what looked like a completely conventional straight couple. Back then, he often treated me like his girlfriend and made all these stereotypically guy-ish promises, working out more, making more money, that kind of thing. He was also very dominant in bed and seemed genuinely drawn to my femininity. The lust he had for me at that stage was, honestly, the hottest thing of my life.But at a certain point, all of that faded, and I started seeing someone much more sensitive underneath, someone who had been performing masculinity as a way of dealing with dysphoria and attracting a woman rather than being himself. It was around this time that he started to lose attraction to me and didn’t want to be dominant anymore. Eventually, he stopped wanted sex entirely. He kept saying that it’s not my fault and how I’m always so good to him. “Too good” almost and it seemed like were heading for a breakup. Still, I really cared about him, even though a lot of his initial personality had turned out to be a facade.So I began being more direct. I started taking charge, telling him what to do. I treated him the way I wanted to be treated, calming his neuroticism, assaulting his ass whenever I felt like it, and just kind of playfully bullying him when I was horny, smacking him around when I fucked him. It completely turned the relationship around. We are both happier now than we have ever been.Gender roles are bullshit, and trans people should not fall into them or pressure their partners to fit them. A lot of trans guys do not want to act stereotypically masculine for long periods of time. And I do not want to be the weak, passive woman who is always getting dumped anymore. This works for us, and that is what matters.

Idk I'm really confused on why AGP seems like an actual thing but actual AAP (genuine desire to be masculine and male looking and such) is so rare. Definitely exists but really rare. Also like the case that one anon mentioned, lots of ftms that seem to really like masculinity but actually don't at all deep down and are compensating. A lot of ftms seem like natal females with AGAMP not AAP.
