Meanwhile, my lived experience as an MTF who trooned in her late thirties is that people are often visibly shocked to find out I'm trans at the swingers club I frequent where they are meeting me in no makeup, my hair up in a bun, wearing only lingerie. I've had to get into the habit of mentioning it when chatting with people to make sure they know before we get up to anything sexual.

Skull size is an issue for me, but that's not the sort of thing normal cis people notice in the absence of other obvious issues. You should recognize that a lot of trans women had hormonal abnormalities well before transition and so plenty of us had weak masculinization in our first puberties, this making transition as an adult much less challenging than many might assume.
