I refused to let my trans bf take SSRIs because they're trash medicine. I've heard good things about lithium however, is that good to take for managing mania and depression? Or is it similarly trash like SSRIs?

These are typically TMS, esketamine, and often a paired SNRI.TMS and ketamine are harder to get and require regular maintenance after initial treatment for effective long term results. You usually also have to have a therapist and a psychiatrist to even be considered by providers, for insurance purposes. But they are options and often effective.
