(I've seen a thread about this before so for some of you this may be redundant.)But I am so fascinated that a considerable number (not all) of completely straight men decide to transition, start HRT, and then gradually or quickly become attracted to men as a woman.I've been thinking about this phenomenon for a while and have a few theories:1. They were attracted to men all along, and were repressing their romantic desires to fit the mold of the "normal" cis-het man.2. Societal expectations demand that a woman be with a man. They're going against norms to transition, but benefit most in a world that favors het women.3. It is simply easier to find romance as a woman who is desired by straight men--they're the horniest and most populous demographic of romantic partner.4. I've heard some transwomen say that they became attracted to men after starting estrogen. Does HRT reorient attraction? Or is it simply a placebo effect?I'm sure some of you have recognized this pattern of straight men becoming straight women. What do you guys think is the cause?
Lesbians are already a small category of the dating pool, let alone ones that would date a transwoman, so liking women post transition just doesn't make sense
1 is the closest I'd say, they accept they're women and then accept they're attracted to men

As meta-attracted repressing AGP. There is nothing really stopping you from being with a man as a man if you truly wanted to. If that was your thing, you'd at least masturbate it, watch gay porn, get a crush on your male friends, anything. But there is simply no appeal in it for us. We don't fit the mold of cishet man thanks to our desire anyway. I think AGP is about inversion of heterosexuality, you don't want to be a straight man, so you switch to his counterpart, which is a straight woman.

I always had crushes on men throughout my life though, just not as frequently as women. Hrt did something to me that makes me like men more, infact I prefer men to women now. I don't pass or anything, and I've only been on HRT for 2 months, and I haven't socially transitioned, so I don't think there is any social aspect to my change in preference.

It's partly desiring closeness to femininity that makes you "straight", probably more accurately bisexual but being gay just doesn't do it because you need that feminine element. And partly being interested in women you want to be like/look like. So when you are the feminine one then you can be with guys without feeling that lack of femininity

There is 100% some kind of HRT effect. Like the smell of guys alone becomes kinda intoxicating. Thats the most clear and obvious thing but there is probably some smaller and subtler effects.I was never attracted to guys but will reluctantly admit now that the thought of laying on a dudes chest sounds comfy af
