Good Friday is a good day for transgender people to remember that all the persecution and hardship we face for telling the world the truth about who we are is seen and understood by God. He acknowledges our suffering just as we acknowledge to suffering His Son went through so that we may be forgiven all of our shortcomings and weaknesses. Ours is the Kingdom of Heaven, when we are ressurrected we will be cured of our false gender and our bodies will be remade to match our spirits. All of the hateful things our dysphoria caused us to do and say, all of the times we despaired and lost hope, all of that has already been forgiven by His sacrifice for us. You need do nothing more than become the loving and compassionate people you truly are. Transition is repentance, honmoding is penance, peace is our right. You are loved more than you can ever know.
Come on, someone has to be feeling at least a little bit of holy spirit today.
I’ve been reading the new testament. I’d like to join a Lutheran church and become a pastor. There are some that allow men and women both

Good thread, there's too much anti-religion sentiment around these parts

>>43140911Yes. >>43140909IDK I feel like women shouldn't be preachers and trans women doing that sort of thing are denying who they're meant to be. I'd really like to be a nun, to just live with Jesus and do good stuff my whole life. I know they won't accept me, but holding the desire in my heart keeps me warm sometimes.
>>43140703Your body isn't mismatched with your soul. That implies that the soul is some sort of self that is deeper than your body, which does not fit within Christian theology. You are right that you are loved by God.
>>43141419You don't know that. They don't know that. They're guessing. What we do know is that in the recently discovered Gospel of St Thomas that Jesus promised to make transgender men who were faithful to Him into complete men in the Kingdom to come.
>>43141755I am quite confident about orthodox Christian teaching regarding ontology. If you're relying on the pseudepigraphical, non-canon documents that flirt with gnosticism, I get the impression that you're more interested in building an ideology to fit your whims rather than exploring the Christian faith in sincerity.
>>43142070I get the feeling that you're more interested in quoting esoteric canon than in honouring your God.
