the reason they hate trans kids is that they hate the whole concept of wanting something for its own sake rather than instrumentally to "fit in" better. it's why all the anti-trans kid bills that call it "mutilation" make explicit exceptions for actual unwanted mutilation like circumcision or unnecessary genital surgeries on intersex infants (obviously if the kid can't pee you have to do something, but often surgeries are done for no reason other than to make them "look normal"). it's only allowed to force things on children, never for them to make their own decisions.
