It may seem paradoxical for transmascs to be terfs. after all, they're trans themselves, and they don't even identify as women. so why is it so common?I've spent a lot of time observing terf spaces and I think what primarily motivates terfs' hatred of mtfs is that they feel a sense of pride in their womanhood and feel that mtfs calling themselves women, participating in women's spaces, and being accepted by women is an insult because they're being equated with someone they consider lesser than themselves. Similarly to anti-immigrant white people in Western countries, they feel that the inclusion of those they consider their inferior in the title they take pride in devalues that title and their pride. Also similarly, they'll make up stuff about these people being dangerous and criminal and a threat to them, but their underlying objection is still the psychic wound to their sense of identity. it's no coincidence that there's a huge overlap between terf and anti-immigrant beliefs.so why are transmascs more likely than cis women to be terfs? because they've suffered immensely from being born women, and so they become especially attached to the title of womanhood as something they've earned through that suffering. This makes them especially defensive of the female identity from those they perceive as outsiders.
Wokescolds make it impossible for ftms to have reasonable discussions about the struggles they face at the intersection of transphobia, bioessentialism, and misogyny without being labeled terfs for it. Everyone knows you can only be bitter about how much it sucks to be a tranny if you do enough linguistic gymnastics to prove that none of the discrimination you face is actually misgendering you
