Broadly speaking empathy. The interesting question is what to do with the people who simply want to be bad influences. Because most of the "bad people" in the world aren't bad, they're normal people who are forced to be bad to survive; to not be oppressed. But there are people out there that want to do bad things for purely selfish reasons and no amount of reasoning short of mind control is going to dissuade them from that path.The question then becomes, what do we do with those people? Death? Mind control? Hell?How about a virtual world where their insane way of life doesn't produce the hellish outcomes it would in reality?
