Why are most gay men NPCs with no interest in deep topics? Just so you know I am gay, this is not an anti gay thread. i am just lonely because with the exception of literally one guy none of my gay friends ever want to talk about anything interesting.
>>
>>43179352
Define what is interesting for you. For me I wanna yap about video games but gays rarely seem interested in that from my experience beyond a surface level at most.
>>
>>43179440
>Define what is interesting for you
philosophy and religion, political ideologies, the occult
>>
>>43179447
Literally the same stuff I hear just about every gay online want to talk about, lol. I'm shocked you're finding it hard to talk about these things. If the issue is finding gays irl to talk about that sort of stuff with, well, they're niche topics at best and argument starters at worst.
>>
>>43179463
To nearly all of my gay friends anything existential with any real stakes at all is "too negative" for them to want to talk about at length
>>
>>43179447
These topics are not really sustainable as the basis of a long term friendship imo.
I mean it's interesting to talk about that yeah, but all the time, it gets too heavy.
I think you'd quickly make friends if you didn't think of specifically making gay friends (unless you wanna bang, but that's a different story).
Just try to look past your own boundaries and be interested in people of all kinds. Each person you meet is a treasure trove of information and compassion.
Put yourself second and become interested in your interlocutor first and foremost.
Only then will you start to see places to take a conversation down a serious road. It doesn't take a special person to be interested in such fundamental things, you just have to find out how to relate them to THEIR experience.

>philosophy
Meh, I can see your point anon. I’m a gay who’s into philosophy and there’s <5 gays I know who also shared this interest. Although, I don’t mind it. Even if I don’t have friends I can still manage to talk to others about their stupid interests, just because they’re not interested in what you’re into, which is albeit pitiful & makes the relationship one sided, it’s still somewhat “nice” talking to people about what they’re into.
>>
>>43179447
These aren't interesting.
>>
>>43179352
Date a pooner instead
>>
>>43179447
i’m interested in stuff like this too, but from my experience, people who talk like you are the most insufferable of all
>>
>>43180766
How do I talk?

Elaborate
>>

I actually love video game ! But also philosophy and basically learn new things
>>
>>43180939
You want to talk about deep stuff but obviously haven't even managed to figure out something as shallow and algorithmic as making friends.
Just be a bit more silly.

Bad take, borderlining the stereotypical “if you’re so smart why are you still so sad??? You have the intelligence to fix that!” Although, OP feels pretentious through the text and also is radiating some form of subconscious superiority complex..

I have autism
>>
>>43181063
No, actually. And though I'm very interested in religion, I hate it and I hate the idea of God
>>
>>43181108
That's no excuse. Go figure out how to make friends!! It'll be fun trust me :)
>>
>>43181117
>not into Jordan Peterson
Okay, you’ve cleared a low bar here; you’re not a total dipshit.

Maybe try seeking out groups that are focused on the subjects you’re interested in, and then look for gay dudes in those settings. You might have better luck coming at the problem from the opposite direction you’ve been taking so far. It might scratch this itch for you even if you don’t find the love of your life in the process.

Also there are queer book clubs and art events. You could try that kind of thing.
>>
>>43179352
>>43179447
Most straight people aren't into these subjects either, OP. My impression has always been that gay men are disproportionately into classic humanities. But it's still niche of course

what do you mean by "you" and "Jordan Peterson" and "shit like that" and "be" and "honest?"
>>43181117
what interests you most about religion?
>>
>>43181653
>what interests you most about religion?
The reasons why billions of people believe in it and how it affects their decision making. Particularly decisions that affect people who don't follow their religion. Also the history and mythology, i am very open to the idea that these god entities do really exist in some form
>>
>>43179496
Maybe they've just grown out of it? I'd say something like that now if someone wanted to talk about philosophy or existential stuff and I used to be obsessed with it.
>>
>>43181848
people are lonely and scared and want an imaginary daddy looking out for them :3
>>
>>43179447
>political ideologies
You're as vapid as the people you complain about
>>
>>43179352
That's most humans in general

They're even dumber

Even if people find this stuff interesting few are able to articulate it well enough to last more than a conversation or two. Deep topics are better in a book or a podcast.

Gays used to be at the forefront of the creative arts, but the drugs have destroyed the brains of 99% of them in the current year.
