If you have a fairly late schedule, you can also play with Japanese and other Asian folks. I didn't have a local group here - I had to advertise and cultivate it and teach almost everyone who does now have an interest and play. I'd like to be able to call them friends but they're more like acquaintances who share a hobby I play together weekly with. Akagi was classic fun as an anime, and I need to finish Saki. A new one came out and it was uber edgy at first but got into its groove that I quite enjoyed. Another fairly generic one prior I forget the name that had a parody subbing that made it silly.
