As a sentient human being that naturally wants to minimize its suffering, I need to know how bad FFS recovery truly is. Most probably I'm gonna get a type 3 forehead reduction, a nosejob and a T-shaped genioplasty (not a full jaw reduction) and I have all of that scheduled for September. Picrel is me btw.

Before I send them any money I need to know how much am I gonna suffer during the recovery process. How much pain will I be in and what other forms of suffering can i experience. How does the pain compare to say, a migraine? Will I be able to go back to my normal life after a month? What's the worst part?

>pain
manageable, not as bad as a migraine imo. they will give you a narcotic painkiller (typically oxycodone). if you take the acetaminophen and oxycodone as recommended (typically dosing every 6-8 hours, i suggest keeping a piece of paper and writing what time you take each so that you know exactly when to dose again), you will be fine.
most of the pain from FFS was in my abdomen because of liposuction for fat grafting. it feels like extreme soreness, most acutely when you rise from lying down to sitting up.
honestly though the worst pain i experienced was from constipation due to the oxycodone. TAKE LAXATIVES AND EAT FIBER. constipation hurts BAD.
the worst part on the face is the rhinoplasty. they put long tubes in your nose to keep the airway open, which will remain there for about a week. sometimes the tubes slip out your nose a bit and it's very uncomfortable if you accidentally hit them or adjust them too quickly, it will hurt, sort of a combination of the feeling of accidentally inhaling water and getting bopped on the nose. the difficulty breathing is very annoying, you will feel like you have a severe headcold for the first week. but once they remove the tubes, it will feel incredible.
i was able to be functional enough to work full time after a month, with like 80% functionality by two weeks. my FFS was split into two operations (one for lower face, one for upper face).
tl;dr it's usually worse in your imagination than it is in reality. oxycodone is a really effective painkiller. just make sure you don't constipate yourself.

Probably better to take naproxen + paracetamol instead of an opioid + paracetamol.

Ive had ffs 5 times, including revisions. Its fucking horrible.

Twice i got morphine, then at the new hospital they only gave me basic painkillers and a cooling machine.

It will hurt OP, its surgery. Just go in accepting that the results will hopefully be worth it. If you can, get your doctor to prescribe you codeine

Thank you nona for a very detailed answer, that's what I needed. Seems like oxies are my only hope. Also I find it unusual that you think that the worst pain from all of those is the nose, tbhon I thought that the jaw work has the hardest recovery
>>
>>43198690
who did u got to? for the ffs?
>>
>>43198325
you all lied to me saying its like a small head ache and its actually the worst pain I've ever experienced.

You cant move for the first week so youre stuck in bed staring at the ceiling or walls. Your face gets rlly swollen and the sutures hurt and every now and then its like someone is stabbing your head with a needle. There is a lot of pressure on your face. If you're not elevated when youre sleeping your blood pools and the swelling worsens and you cant breathe so its like you're drowning. So many pills and drugs to get you through the day. Oxys make you constipated and sleepy. Cant eat any real food and dont have enough energy to do anything else but sleep. I tried watching movies or reading but i get naseous and tired.

You should try walking or your body will ache from being in bed all day. Still worth it but you need someone to help you recover.

IM Clinic in Barcelona and 2pass in Belgium.

Im going to Yanhee Hospital in Thailand soon, they want 30k to fix the previous shit so idk, in two minds and in legit terrified of surgery now
>>
>>43199294
>you need someone to help you recover.

Absolutely 100% critical. Ive had ffs, vfs, ba, srs, without my partner i wouldn't be alive, no exaggeration, you need help
>>
>>43199435
If recovery is so hard, how does it feel to book another surgery knowing you will have to go thru it yet again?
>>
>>43199571
It feels shit because i facially passed but the surgeon said "we can just make you perfect", then a complication happned and i dont pass as well now. Still pretty, but not that stunning woman who got constant nice compliments. Still get compliments now, but less.

So im in two minds. Im legit upset at my face, i have the money to fix it... but what if it gets even worse? I regret the last surgery... i dont wanna look trans, i wanna look how i did before, and pass... but what if i look worse....

I wish i could know what to do
>>
>>43199597
>we can just make you perfect
tbhon this sounds like such a red flag, like atp you 're not doing it out of necessity anymore and start chasing the dragon
>>
>>43199423
how expensive is 2pass?
>>
>>43199633
Yeah, it was a red flag. The surgeon botched me. Mentally im just broken.

I remember how i looked before, just unreal. But that was ages ago now and ik trying to cope with my new face. It fucks with me because i had men walk up to me and say im beautiful but also had other men scream anti trans stuff at me which upset me a lot.

My brains so fucked, for a time i was passing, it kills my soul. I spoke to a new surgeon, showed him pics of old face and now, he said he can fix it but only regain 70% of my old looks. I just dont know.

Reasonable. Bart was doing it, then he commited suicide and Noorman took over, and he got me looking great, actually great, but then he said "we can do more" and fucked me.

Their before and afters are top tier, but my case was unique, i had been attacked before and that damaged my nose. I do recommend them, even with everything i went through, but you need to be very firm with what you want, and you tell them, not they tell you
>>
>>43199691
can you put like a number to
>reasonable
?
>>
>>43199846
Well, i had rhinoplasty and forehead shaving for €12k
>>
>>43199859
Oh that's very reasonable I will shortlist them
Thanks!

If you're from the Nordics, or especially from Finland I can guarantee you ain't seeing a single opioid outside of the hospital.
>>
>>43198325
I had ffs a week and a half ago.
It's not really painful at all, though when i stopped the steroid the swelling got bad enough that i cold compressed for a day. but it was still like an easy migraine.
It is pretty uncomfortable (and i'm still uncomfortable) but it's a manageable level of discomfort.
I did have a friend but he mostly just played guitar for me and stuff and did grocery runs for protein shakes. I could have done it without him
Remember that everyone exaggerates everything.
>>
>>43200059
oh i should samefag to clarify: i had brow + complete rhino when i had a huge nose before + a really drastic vline. so i had full full ffs, i'm not a person that had only brow or something and equating my recovery with someone that had fullface.
