most dht activity comes from intracrine production rather than serum dht, certain organs (i.e. hair follicles) contain specific enzyme setups that can produce dht locally from testosterone/other steroid substrates
(fyi most serum dht comes from the testicles which is why trans girls have low serum dht)
plus everyones hair follicles have varying sensitivity to androgens based on genetics
i'm one of those people that can't mono without a 5ari (at least), if I don't then I have iissues w/bodyhair, thin hairline, skin and hair oiliness

It took many months for monotherapy actually make a noticeable difference for my hairline. At about 2 years, it's definitely not getting worse. A year ago, I got an orchi, and i still had recession.

Take your fin/duta and give it time. Be hesitant with minoxidil; it's effective but i found it to not be long lasting. like a month after i stopped using it, i started losing all progress
