The point is that English philosophers like Bentham, Mill, and most importantly Henry George, made their cases so clearly and profoundly that there's really nothing to discuss. You read them, you understand them, you're better for it.

German philosophers such as Hegel, Kant, and Marx, spend so much of their effort being obtuse and hard to understand, that they take up far too much of an undergrads education merely getting a basic grasp of them, when most undergrads already generally understood the English point of view and only needed it articulated in skillful prose.

Bentham vs Kant isn't actually a real contest. Bentham won. It is the foundation upon which modern governments of any political stripe and the modern political dialogue itself is built. Kant exists only as an academic excercise to help undergrads understand why Bentham won, which is not actually useful information.
