Turns out it was jealousy all along

boring thread so imma derail it; bg3 is so fucking ass. it's designed to appeal to 35-45 yos i stg, more cheesy thirstbait and cheap high fantasy slop than anything else. it's definitively slop, like its just basic ass entertainment you turn on for 20 minutes then instantly forget abt. i saw some statue arguing its not for zoomzooms because muh dnd as though it has anything to do with it, it straight up just ripped off the game design and inserted it horribly more than it made a good homage.

all the 'detail' is just for shallow marketing points, theres no consistency or thought put into it so its just a mess. videogames shouldve stayed in the semi-niche limbo forever, game developers are way too incompetent to ever produce anything meaningful. this is proven by every good game's team being like, 90% people who aren't gamedevs

And what do you plan on doing now?

honestly I just don't like the dnd setting. I like dnd as a concept and I've had fun playing it a few times, but the setting is so cheesy and sloppy I just can't get into it

is it faketrans that i never went with female/cute characters because it felt self-indulgent

D&D has many settings. Maybe you'll like some of the alternatives?

I knew someone was going to say this, but I'm pretty sure we both know what I mean

Then why didn't you preempt it?

Huh? Wizards of the Coast commissioned Larian studios to make the game. It's not a "homage" or a "rip off". It's legitimately set in the Forgotten Realms setting. The game was required to implement the 5e ruleset
