I see so many posts seething and talking about how repressing gender dysphoria is like, the worst fucking thing in the entire world. I've never really seen a rational reason for this hatred, but if I had to guess, it's because they remind trans people that maybe they didn't actually HAVE TO transition. That dysphoria does not mean their fate is sealed, and they could have taken a different path if they'd tried. Most people here subscribe to that "transition NOW or you'll end up killing yourself or eventually transitioning anyway" mindset, so I don't expect to find very many anons willing to engage sincerely with this post, but who knows maybe I'm wrong. So, do you hate reppers, and if so, why?

I don't hate reppers. Granted, I was one for a long time and I'm recovering from that period. I have a lot of sympathy for reppers. I do think a lot of them will end up regretting not transitioning but that's partly just me projecting my own experience onto them and not wanting them to hurt the way I do.I do think some reppers naively believe their dysphoria will get better if they just do the right things or live the right kind of life. But I don't say that judgmentally, it's coming from a place of experience.I think reppers deserve happiness.

I want them to find stability, whether it ends up being through transitioning, or not.At the same time, I do have empathy for the people who bring up suicide. A lot of us, myself included, do have attempts under our belt. Some can, mistakenly, assume someone talking about minimal gender discomfort/issues is experiencing the same type of pain as we are/have. I know this can harm people with OCD or other people who can fixate/ruminate on those sort of things. I hope one day there can be better communication between us and those groups, and we can all get the support we need without hurting each other.
